753 Coll.o Contees Depo.s about y.e bounds of a Tract of Land Called Roizers Refuge Charles County fs Att a white oake on the East Side of Port Tobacco Creek binding upon a Marsh and on the North Side of the mouth of a Little Branch Jan.ry 8.th 1707/8 The oath of Nicholas Cooper aged Sixty Years and upwards Viz.t as followeth The Came the bovesaid Nicholas Cooper and then and there made oath upon the holy Evangelist that about thirty Seven or Eight years agoe or thereabouts this Depon.t was one of the Chaine Carriers at the Surveying and Runing out of the devideing Line of a Tract of Land Containing two thousand acres Between M.r Benj.a Rozier and M.r W.m Chandler Roziers Refuge being the one part thereof whereon the Deponent now standeth M.r Richard Edglin was the Survey.r and to the best of his knowledge Depon.ts Knowledge the first Beginning Tree of the fore said Deviding Line was then a bounded white oake & stood on the place as abovesaid whereon the Depon.t now Standeth at a white oake or within a Yard of or two thereof there the Said Survey.r Begunn is first Course for the Deviding Line of the afd two thousand Acres of Land and the foresaid M.r Rozier and M.r Chandler was there present and then and there Mutually did agree & assent to the Running of the foresaid deviding Line of the abovesaid two thousand Acres of Land and further this Deponent saith not as Wittness the Deponents hand & Seale the day and Year above Written his Wittness Phillip Lynes Edward Phillpott Jn.o Manning Nicholas N Cooper (S) marke By Virtue of a Comission from the Chan.ry Court of Annapolis to me Directed Bearing date y.e 26.th day of December 1707 for the Examining Evidences touching the Bounds of a Certain Tract of Land called Roziers Refuge Containg a 1000 Thousand Acres In Pursuance to which ^s.d^ Comission I have called before me Nicholas Cooper Nominated and produced by the honble Col.o John Contee and him the said Cooper I have Examined and Sworne who hath herewith given his Corporall Oath according to the Contence in Manner and forme aboves.d under his hand and seale In Testimony of which I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day & Year first above written Joseph Manning (S) |
