       These nine Years past nor in that time hath wrote to him or sent to him by any
       means nor heard from him the said Defend.t by any Manner or way whatsoever
       Till within these Tenn days past the Defend.ts Eldest Son Came with a Letter and
       thereupon in Conscience he did not nor could refuse to come and a Somons from the
       Comission.rs was shewed to him to come and further saith not

4.th Int.ry   Did you know of a Will made by your Father M.r Thomas Knighton did you ever see
       any Will by him made declare what you know or have heard Concerning the Same
      
                To his Interr.ry he Saith about a Fortnight after his Mother had an Account
       of his Father Thomas Knightons Death his mother happen'd to goe a broad and
       Leave the keys of her Chests and Truncks under her Boulster or Pillow of her Bedd
       He did unlock the Chest and trunk where all the writings Lay and Read them
       being very Desireous to find the Will and know what might belong to him
       He also saith he could after his most Diligent Search and fairest oppertunity
       find no will and he saith he could then write and read and Cast Account Sufficiently
       well for any such Matter and know his Fathers hand very well he saith he
       verily beleives his Father made no will for that about five years after his fathers
       Death he went to England and Enquired of his Fathers three Brothers James John
       and George whither any of them heard at any time his father Thomas Knighton
       their Brother (in his life time) Talk of a Will or said he ever had made a will  And
       they Answ.rd no  And M.r James Knighton where his fathers Cheif abode was and
       where he lay six (Sick and dyed) Asked his Bother Thomas Knighton this Depon.ts
       Father (in his lifetime Sickness) whither he would make a Will  And Thomas
       Knighton this Deponents Father said he would make none and further saith not
      
5.th Int.ry      Doe you know after what manner or how the Pretended Tract of Gadhill was
       Purchased by the Compl.t John Hall Esq declare what you know or cann Remember
       Concerning the Same to the Rest of your knowledge

          To this Interrogatory he saith about Eleaven years agoe Past to the best of this Depon.ts  
       Remembrance or about Tenn years agoe the Compl.t John Hall Esq came with the now
       Honble Col William Holland and M.r Samuel Chew the Elder to the Dwelling Plantation of
