       Comission to us Directed Wee have hereunto affixed out hands & seales
       as by the same Wee are Required this seconday of July Anno Dm 1711

                   Interrogatorys putt to Thomas Knighton son & heir of
       Thomas Knighton of Herring Creek Gent Decd by Virtue of a Comission
       from the high and honble Court of Chancery Dated the 23.d day of
       March 1710/11 Directed to us the subscribers to Examin & take such Evidence
       as should be proposed in a Cause there Depending Between John Hall
       Esq Compl.t and Christopher Vernon Defend.t


1.st Inter.ry      Did you write the receipt Dated the Eight & Twentieth day of June
       1711 with Your Owne hand Writing (on the back of the Conveyance or
       Deed of Sale of Marshes Seat which Deed Bears Date y.e Nineteenth day
       of November 1701  And did not Cap.t Rich.d Jones and M.r Abraham
       Birkhead two of the Comiss.rs Appointed Sett their hands ^as wittnesses^ thereto

                            To which Interrogatory he saith Yes he did and the two said Com.rs
                            were Wittnesses and further saith not

2.d      Did Christopher Vernon the Defend.t truely and honestly pay the money
           and Tobacco Specifyed in the said Deed without Useing ^any^ Trick Abatem.t or
           Advantage to himself

                            To which Interrogatory he saith he did and Used no Trick or Advantage
           and further saith not

3.d      Interro.ry         What age are you of how Long is it since you Saw the
           Defend.t Christopher Vernon did you ever write to him or send to him or he
           write or Send to you any manner of Way in that time

                            To these Int.rys he saith he is about Six and Twenty Years of Age
           and that he hath not seen the Defend.t Christopher Vernon for above
