712 That the place where Edward Packe shewed him was the place where the Stake of Chaplains ^Land^ Marsh did stand it being in a Small Gutt in a Marsh as aforesaid where now stands a Ceader post his Jn.o Mackall (S) Gilbert Devorx (S) Mark Daniel of S.t Tho Jenifer (S) Maryland fs Calvert County Aprill 5.th 1711 The Deposition of George Lyne and Twenty three years or thereabouts Declared on the holy Evangelist that Thomas Arnold an old standard Did often tell him the Said Dep.o that the Stake of Chaplains Land Did stand in a Gutt in y.e March Comonly Called Chaplanes March and the Same Gutt that that Gilbert Deavour doth at this Present time Declared on the holy Evangelist to and that there is now a Ceader Post in the Same Place that the Said Arnold did say was the Place where the Stake stood formerly and furth saith not his George G L Lynes (S) John Mackall (S) Mark Daniel of S.t Tho Jenifer (S) Maryland fs By Virtue of a Comission out of the high Court of Chancery Bearing Date at the City of Annapolis the sixth day of March in the ninth year of her Majestys Reigne Anno Dm 1710 Directed to us Robert Skinner John Mackall and Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer or any two of us to Examin Evidences touching the bounds of a Tract of Land Called Broake Adventure Laid out for John Smith and Laid out on the Patented in the Name of John Brooke These |
