                                              By Virtue of a Comission out of the high Court of
       Chancery bearing Date at the City of Annapolis the sixth day of March in the
       Ninth year of her Majestys Reigne Anno Dm one thousand seven hundred &
       Tenn Directed to us Robert Skinner John Mackall and Daniel of S.t Thomas
       Jenifer or any two of us to Examine Evidences touching the bounds of a pcell
       of Land Laid out for W.m Chaplen in Calvert County &c.a

             These are therefore to Certifye that Wee John Mackall and Daniel of S.t
             Thomas Jenifer Comissioners above nominated have called before us Gibert
             Deavour and George Loynes of Calvert County and have taken their Depo.s
             and Reduced the same into writing under their hands which are hereunto
             anext this    day of Ap.ll Anno Dm 1711

       The Deposition of Gilbert Deavour aged forty four years or thereabouts Declareth
       upon the holy Evangelist that about Seven years a Goe one Edward Pack who was
       owner of part of the aforesaid parcell of Land Told him the Deponent that the place
       where the Said Depon.t now stands was the place that the Stake of Chaplains Land
       stood which decided the said Packs Land and the Land of one Michael Taney and
       the said Depon.t further saith that the sid Pack told the Said Depon.t his Father
       Edward Pack shewed him the said place it being in a Gutt which is in a March Comonly
       Called Chaplains Marsh and further the Said Deponent saith that he heard one
       Thomas Arnold a very old standard near the said Land swear on the holy Evangelist
