                 Depositions for Coll Lloyd for y.e Land Nathaniels Point Filed 7.br 5 1704

           The Answers of Henry Costin aged sixty years or thereabouts is sev.ll Questions
       asked him by Coll Edw Lloyd of Talbot Co.ty of & concerning y.e sale of a certain tract
       of Land cont.g 50.ℓℓ called Nathaniels Point lying Wye River in y.e s.d Co.ty
       from Nathn.ll Cleeve of Talbot Co.ty to one Hen.r Hawkins of y.e same Co.ty He y.e s.d
       Hen.r Costin having first taken his Corporall Oath before Me W.m Coursey
       Comission.r especially appointed by a Comiss.n from her Maj.ties high Court
       of Chanc.ry bearing date y.e 13 day of Oct.r 1702 at w.ch examination (as by
       y.e s.d Comiss.n directed) I did give Notice to Emanuel Cleeve to have been present
       but for some time past he hath absented himself out of his province

       Imp.r   Do you know M.r Hen.r Hawkins of Talbot Co.ty decd & Nathaniel Cleeve of y.e
       same Co.ty likewise decd?

       Ans.r   Yes I know them both very well

       2.d   Doe you know a certain tract of Land called Nathaniels point on Wye River q.t
       50.ℓℓ

       Ans.r I doe know 50.a of Land so called in Wye River

       3.d   Do or did you know any thing relating to y.e sale of y.e s.Land called Nath.lls
       Point from y.e s.d Nath.ll Cleeve to y.e s.Hen.r Hawkins or of y.e s.d Cleeves acknowledging
       y.e sale thereof or of any satisfaction recd by y.e s.d Cleeve of y.e s.d Hawkins
       for y.e same

       Ans.r   Near or about forty years past I being in Company with y.e s.d Nathan.ll
       Cleeve Hen.r Hawkins Peter Sides W.m Jones & some other persons at y.e
       house of M.r Ric.d Woolman in Wye River y.e s.d Hen.r Hawkins gave at
       time to y.e s.d Nathaniel Cleeve a Case of Spirits for & in Consideration of y.e s.d
       Nathaniels surrender of his title to y.e s.d Land to him y.e s.d Hen.r Hawkins  And
       being all young Men they Agreed to drink it out & accordingly at a certain
       Tree called then y.e Batchelors Tree standing by y.e then Road between M.r
       Ric.d Woolmans & y.e s.d Hen.r Hawkinss plantation it was set down &
        We I here drank out y.e whole Case of Spirits  And y.e s.d Nath.ll Cleeve did
       then & there express himself fully satisfied & contented for y.e s.d Land from
       & by y.e s.d Hawkins

       4.th   To whom since y.t time was y.e Land called Nathaniel Nathaniels
       point deemed & reputed to belong & who hath held y.e posses.n of it since

       Ans.r)   It was alwaies deemed & reputed to be M.r Henry Hawkinss
       Land during his life & since his death to belong to Coll Phil.a Lloyd
       And althô I have been very conversant with y.e s.d Nathaniel
       Cleeve since y.t time I never heard him pretend any Claim to
       y.e said Land or ever Mention it
