492 knowledge he returns of the adjacent Land and Swamp there being no place to the Northward up the River where they could possibly beginn to Run the Course of the said land without crossing Swamps nor Branches which he very well remembers they did not in Runing the first [illegible] of the Land called Admireathorea but went the Course all the way on plain firm dry ascending Ground to the Second Tree of the said Land being a white oake and further doth Declare as he hath taken his Oath on the Holy Evangelist That is the very Tree he caused to be Bounded for the first bound Tree of the said Tract of Land Called Admireathorea being confident in his knowledge of the Ground whereon it stands to be the place of beginning of the afores.d Land he Laying his hand on the Tree when he took his Oath before Us to the best of his Knowledge Memory and Judgm.t and as he hoped to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven That to be the very Tree of the beginning of Admireathorea and no other Pursuant to a Commission to Us directed and in Obedience thereunto We have taken the Oaths of the aforemenconed persons Whose Names are Subjoyned to each particular Deposition being in Number Thirteen concerning Lands for Coll.o Addison as is before Expressed We have hereunto Annext our hands and Seals the Day and Year above written Robert Wade (sigill) Jn.o Hawkins (sigill) Depositions of the Bounds of Chartsy Land for Coll.o Holyday filed Ap.ll y.e 1.st 1703 Maryland fs March 20.th 1702/3 By Vertue of a Commission Granted to William Holyday of Prince Georges County out of Her Majesty's High Court of Chancery to us to take the Oath of Coll.o Ninian Beale or other Evidences as should appear and him or them to examin upon Oath upon the Holy Evangelist concerning the particular antient Bounds and Bound Trees of a Tract of Land Called Chartsy &c as by the said Commission more att large appears and this day viz.t y.e 20.th of March as afores.d the afd Coll.o Ninian Beale aged seaventy Years or thereabouts going with us upon the Land Called Chartsy brought us to a fair marked and bounded poplar near |
