Causes
       James Moneypeny   Bill     It is Decreed by this Court y.t y.e Compl.nt
                   ag.t                        shall have y.e Land & in y.e Bill mentioned
       Will.m Hows                      decreed to him y.e s.d Compl.t in Fee simple
                                                 saving y.e Heirs Right of Redemption  And
                                                 (y.e Land & being judged sufficient to pay & defray y.e
                                                 Debt Interest & Cost) y.t y.e Deft be acquitted fro
                                                 paying any Cost


Decree   Whereas heretofore y.t is to say upon y.e second day of Jan.r Anno
               Dom.i 1696 James Moneypeny late of Calvert County Merc.t did exhibit
       his bill of Complaint in y.e high Court of Chancery ag.st William
       Hows late of y.e same County Carpenter touching certain Lands
       called Poor land in Hunting Creek in y.e s.d County assigned &
       made over to him y.e s.d James by y.e s.d Will.m (in consideration of
       seventeen pounds sterl due to y.e s.d James from y.e s.d William)
       together with y.e buildings orchards & other appurtenances  And
       Whereas y.e s.d William covenanted to make farther assistance
       of y.e s.d Land &c to y.e s.d James when demanded but died before
       y.e same could be perfected leaving William Hows his son an
       Infant under y.e age of 21 years his heir who by Nonage is
       incapacitated to redeem y.e s.d Land &c  And Whereas y.e s.d debt
       of 17. sterl is still unpaid as by y.e s.d bill filed in the
       office of y.e s.d Court of Chancery doth more at large appear
       therefore y.e Court this day upon y.e hearing of y.e s.d Bill read &
       upon y.e debates of y.e Councill as well for y.e deft as Compl.t
       doth order & decree

                   That y.e Complainant shall have y.e Land &
                   appurtenances in y.e s.d bill mentioned decreed to him
                   y.e s.d Complt in Fee simple (saving y.e heirs Right
                   of Redemption)  And y.e Land &c being judged sufficient
                   to pay & defray y.e Debt Interest & Cost y.t y.e Deft be
                   acquitted from paying any Cost
