       To this Interogatory y.e s.d Oldfield answers y.t y.e s.d Coll Herman
       did not there shew any ready tob but y.e s.d Herman offered
       to pay y.e same in tob y.t he had ready in full satisfaction
       for y.e said land

       The Deposition of Coll Casparus A Herman aged 38 y.rs
       or thereabouts  Being sworn saith

       That about 4 or 5 years ago being at y.e house of Tho.s Innis
       in Sassafrax Riv.r there happened to be comunication between
       Tho Kersey & M.r W.m Dare about y.e land y.t y.e s.d Tho.s Kersey
       now lives on  And y.e s.d Tho Kersey did then request y.e said
       Coll Herman to pay for him y.e Remainder of y.e tob y.t he
       was indebted to y.e s.d Dave for a piece of land y.t he y.e said
       Kersey bought of him y.e s.d Dare  Upon w.ch y.e s.d Coll Herman
       offered y.e s.d W.m Dare on y.e behalf of y.e s.d Tho Kersey y.t
       if he y.e s.d Dare would go along with him y.e s.d Coll Herman
       he y.e s.d Coll Herman would satisfy & pay him at
       his own plantation in Bohemia River  The said W.m
       Dare refused y.e s.d paym.t & said y.t he would be paid at
       his own plantation & y.t y.e s.d Coll Herman should bring
       it to y.e s.d Dares plantation & there he would open it bundle
       by bundle & if he then like it he would receive it & not
       otherwise  Afterward John Thompson being by he y.e s.d
       Thompson did offer to lend Coll Herman as much tob as
       he should pay y.e s.d Dare he y.e s.d Thompson saying
       y.t he had as much tob ready by him & farther saith not

       John Hyland aged 57 years or thereabouts upon oath
          saith

       That about 4 or 5 years ago Tho.s Kersey requested this Dep.t to go with
       him to y.e house of W.m Dare to tender him some bills wch he had to offer
       him as pay for land w.ch y.e s.d Kersey said he had bought of him y.e s.d
       M.r Dare  And when he came to y.e s.d M.r Dares house y.e s.d Kersey did
       then offer y.e s.d Dare sev.ll bills for severall sums of tob due to him in
       Baltemore County To w.ch Dare replyed y.t if he y.e s.d Kersey would get it
       all together ready at one place he would take it if he liked it or else he
       might save himself y.e labour and moreover M.r Dare said y.t if y.e Execut.rs
       of M.r Fendall would discount y.t bill it would be good pay to him y.e
       s.d M.r Dare because he y.e s.d M.r Dare did on y.e s.d M.r Fendall some tob
       at y.t time Much more discourse past at y.t time between them w.ch this
       Dept doth not well remember & farther saith not
