       George Oldfield of Cæcil County aged 46 years or thereabout deposeth
       as foll.th (viz.t)

       That some time about 4 or 5 years last past to y.e best of this Deponents
       Remembrance one Thomas Kersey of y.e s.d County came
       to y.e house of this Dep.t in Elk River & did request him as a
       Neighbour to go with him to M.r Hyland another Neighbour
       to him this Dep.t who accordingly did & farther requested
       this Dep.t & y.e s.d M.r Hyland to go with y.e s.d Kersey to the
       house of M.r W.m Dare to tender M.r W.m Dare severall bills w.ch he had
       due to him in Baltemore County in p.t pay of a piece of land w.ch
       y.e s.d Kersey had as he said purchased of y.e said M.r Dare w.ch accordingly
       this Dep.t & y.e s.d Hyland went with him to y.e s.d M.r Dares     
       house And y.e s.d Tho.s Kersey did then & there tender to y.e s.d M.r
       Dare severall bills w.ch were due to him in Baltemore County (y.t is
       to say) a bill of 500.ℓ tob of M.r Miles Gibson another of M.r
       James Fendall of 500.ℓ tob another of M.r John Walston of 500.ℓ
       tob & another of M.r Tho.s Hedge of 500.ℓ tob in pt pay of y.e s.d
       Land Upon w.ch M.r Dare replyed yt he would not give himself
       y.e trouble to go & receive it but if he y.e s.d Kersey would receive
       it & get it in hhds yt then he y.e s.d Dare would take it but not otherwise
       And y.e s.d M.r Dare did then & there assume to pay to y.e s.d Kersey
       y.e s.d Tobacco  And thereupon y.e s.d Kersey did discharge y.e said
       sequence  And this Dep.t farther saith y.t y.e s.d Kersey at y.e time
       & place afd did farther acc.t with y.e s.d M.r Dare for work done by
       him y.e s.d Kersey for y.e s.d Dare in making of Wares but
       how much it was this Dep.t cannot remember  And farther
       saith y.t some time afterwards this Dept was in Company with
       Coll Herman & y.e s.d M.r Dare together with severall others of
       y.e house of one Tho.s Innis then living in Sassafrax Riv.r where
       he did hear y.e s.d Coll Herman offer to M.r Dare full pay
       & satisfaction for y.e above mentioned lands  And farther saith
       not
