       known path of Potuxent River & intercepted a line drawne
       from a Branch Back River called S.t Francess Branch w.ch s.d
       Potuxent former path went as near to y.e heads of y.e Creekes as
       men could pass

       We did further alsoe by vertue of the s.d Comission called before us
       Richard Walker of S.t Maryes County planter who did upon his
       Oath declare y.t about Thirty Two or Thirty Three years agoe he
       was a servant to Ishmael Wright who lived at Harvey Towne
       in Calvert County and kept Cattle for y.e s.d Ishmael about 3
       Years & y.t then he did know a path to be at the heads of S.t
       Lawrence's Creeke & Cuckolds Creeke & y.t he did alsoe know
       one other path w.ch was called Phennicks Path which s.d
       Phennicks Path as was then soe called is now y.e Path which is
       accounted now the Potuxent Roade

       William and Mary by the grace of God of England Scotland France
       and Ireland King and Queene Defenders of the Faith &c To John
       Watson and Philip Lynes of S.t Maryes County Greeting Whereas
       Samuel Watkins of Calvert County Gent Shewed to o.r Keeper
       of our Great Seale of Maryland and Chiefe Judge in Equity  That
       whereas he is now possest of his free purchase in his Demeasne
       of a certain tract of Land lying in Calvert County called the    
       Ripe containing Eight hundred Seaventy Two Acres of Land
       and for that there likely to arise some dispute concerning the
       [illegible] Antient Meetes and bounds thereof and of some other land
       [illegible] adjacent and the Evidences that can prove the same
       are antient and in form that they canot attend Courts for the
       [illegible] These [illegible] in Case of Mortality he humbly
       [illegible] him some fitt remedy in that Case
       [illegible] Constitute and Appoint you the said
       [illegible] Philip Lynes and by these p.rsents We do hereby
       [illegible] constitute and appoint you the said John Watson
       and Philip Lynes to Call before you at some convenient time
       and place in S.t Maryes County where to you shall seem meet
       such Evidence and Evidences as the said Samuel Watkins shall
       Nominate and propound and them to Examine (upon Oath
       you to them to be administred) upon such Interrogatories
       shall be given you by the said Samuel Watkins concerning
       the p.rmisses  And that notice of the time and place to be
       given unto John Lidgett of Calvert County or his Attorney
