(230 for Thirteene hundred Eighty Seaven Pounds of Tobacco due from the Comp.lt to the said Hance also Two thousand pounds of Tobacco more by the Comp.lts Ord.r to Mayo.r Boteler also more Two thousand five hundred Twenty and five pounds of Tobacco unto M.r John Abington by his ord.r Together w.th Foure hundred pounds of Tobacco more to the said Abington w.ch y.e Comp.lt was willing to allowe the said Abington for Forbeareance of his debt Two yeares also to M.r John Darnall the sume of Two hundred ninety & six pounds of Tobacco for Recording the Mortgage also to Mich.ll Rochford by ord.r of y.e Comp.lt and his bill taken in the sume of seaven hundred Twenty eight pounds of Tobacco also the Deft paid unto Thomas Tasker subsheriffe of Calvert County Foure hundred pds of Tobacco for his Fees and Journey to Execute Two Replevins & unto his Hono.ble the Chancello.r thirty pounds of Tobacco for sealeing thereof and to his Hono.r the sec.ry One hundred seaventy six pounds of Tob for his Fees for the said Two Replevins also to M.r Robert Carvile Attorney att Lawe for his Fees in sueing out the said Replevins Eight hundred pounds of Tobacco and unto the said Robert Carvile more Foure hundred pounds of Tobacco for his Fee in bringing an Accon of Ejectm.t for the said Land w.ch said last sumes soe disbursed by the said deft Amounted in the whole to the sume of fifteene thousand and Nine pounds of Tobacco as by an account to the answere annexed appeared so that the said Comp.lt was at the time of Putting in the said Answere indebted to the deft the sume of Thirty thousand six hundred and seaven pounds of Tobacco more then Ever hee payd to the deft for w.th our one farthing for Interest And the said Comp.lt haveing soe often fairely promised to make the deft satsifaccon for what hee owed him Tobacco being then worth Fourteen shillings sterl p Cent & soe the deft had been offered by Marchants and haveing also often pmised to make the deft an absolute Deed of sale of part of the sad Land Called Clahamond & Overtowne Containing six hundred acres for Eighteene thousand pounds of Tobacco & the Remaind.r of what should bee due to him to secure by the aforesaid Deed of sale of y.e psonall Estate and Deed of Mortgage aforesaid True it was the Deft did on the thirtyeth day of January 1677 Prepare a Conveyance for the said Land Called Clayhamond & Overtowne for the Absolute pchase (thereof |
