publication of the delinquent list, he shall proceed to
advertise and sell all of the property as set forth in this
subtitle. The advertisements shall be inserted in not more
than three newspapers of general circulation published in
Charles County, to be designated by the County
Commissioners, the fees for advertising to be as follows:
For advertising the list of delinquent taxpayers, 50 cents
for each name in each paper in which they shall be
advertised; and for advertising sales, $4.00 for each
delinquent in each paper in which they shall be advertised.
These advertising fees shall be paid to the treasurer who
shall apply them to the cost of advertising. The
advertisement of sale shall contain the name of the person,
persons, or corporations assessed, the property upon which
the taxes are due and in arrear, with a brief description of
the property, its general location, and such reference to
the title records in the clerk's office as to render them
easy of identification, the amount of taxes due and in
arrear, together with the interest, costs and expenses
accrued and to accrue on the day of sale, including
advertising fees, notary fees and auctioneer's fee, to which
general list of items shall be appended a notice that if the
taxes are not paid on or before a day to be named, not less
than '25 nor more than 30 days from the date of the first
advertisement, together with the accrued interest and
proportionate cost of advertising fees, the treasurer shall
proceed at 10 o'clock a.m. on the day named, at the
courthouse door in the county, to offer each and every
parcel of land, premises and other property for sale to the
highest bidder for cash.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed, amended, or
enacted to read as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

76.

[(c) In Charles County the cost of publishing in any
one newspaper the advertisement for the tax sale of any one
tract or lot all of which is owned by the same tax
delinquent or delinquents shall not exceed the sum of $2.00,
which sum of money shall be charged against the property
offered for sale as an item of cost after six o'clock p.m.
on the Friday next preceding the date of the issue of the
said newspapers in which said advertisement shall first
appear and the treasurer of said Charles County shall
deliver the copy of said advertisement to the publishers of
said newspapers not later than ten o'clock a.m. on the
Saturday of the preceding week in which the first
publication of said tax sale advertisement shall appear.]

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.
