Present Art. 77, §128A(a)(2) is deleted in light
of the definitions of "county", and "county
board" in §1-101 of this article- In light of
this deletion, the words "and the Mayor ... City"
are added in subsection (b) (1) of this section
for clarity.

Present Art. 77, §128A(c) is deleted as obsolete.

The only other changes are in style.

Ch. 972, Acts of 1977 repealed the provisions for
State aid to the Driver Education Program.
However, this funding elimination is not
effective until July 1, 1980 and only if the
General Assembly takes "no action to the
contrary".

The Maryland Driver Education Program Act is now
codified as Title 16, Subtitle 5, of the
Transportation Article.

5-203. STATE COMMITTEE ON THE SCHOOL BUS FORMULA.

(A)   STATE BOARD TO ESTABLISH COMMITTEE ON THE SCHOOL
BUS FORMULA.

THE STATE BOARD SHALL ESTABLISH A STATE COMMITTEE ON
THE SCHOOL BUS FORMULA THAT SHALL CONSIST OF REPRESENTATIVES
FROM ALL AREAS OF SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION.

(B)   MEETINGS.

THE COMMITTEE SHALL MEET AT LEAST TWICE EACH YEAR IN
JANUARY AND JULY.

(C)    REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATIONS IN SCHOOL BUS FORMULA.

THE COMMITTEE SHALL REVIEW AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS IN
THE MARYLAND SCHOOL BUS FORMULA TO REIMBURSE THE COUNTIES
FOR THE COST OF STUDENT TRANSPORTATION.

(D)   RECOMMENDATIONS TO STATE SUPERINTENDENT AND STATE
BOARD.

THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE COMMITTEE SHALL BE MADE TO
THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT AND THE STATE BOARD.
