BASIC CURRENT EXPENSES OF $624 MULTIPLIED BY THE NUMBER OF
STUDENTS ENROLLED.

(3)   TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE STATE SHARE OF
BASIC CURRENT EXPENSES, THE COUNTY GOVERNING BODY SHALL LEVY
AN ANNUAL TAX SUFFICIENT TO PROVIDE AN AMOUNT OF REVENUE FOR
ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY PUBLIC EDUCATION PURPOSES EQUAL TO
THE PRODUCT OF THE WEALTH OF THE COUNTY AND A UNIFORM
PERCENTAGE DETERMINED FOR EACH FISCAL YEAR. THIS UNIFORM
PERCENTAGE SHALL BE DETERMINED AS FOLLOWS: THE SUM OF THE
BASIC CURRENT EXPENSES TO BE SHARED FOR ALL OF THE COUNTIES
SHALL BE MULTIPLIED BY 0.45 AND THIS PRODUCT SHALL THEN BE
DIVIDED BY THE SUM OF THE WEALTH OF ALL OF THE COUNTIES;
THE RESULTING QUOTIENT, EXPRESSED AS A PERCENTAGE ROUNDED TO
THE THIRD DECIMAL PLACE, IS THE UNIFORM PERCENTAGE.

(4)   THE STATE SHARE OF BASIC CURRENT EXPENSES
FOR EACH COUNTY IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE COUNTY SHARE
CALCULATED UNDER PARAGRAPH (3) OF THIS SUBSECTION AND THE
BASIC CURRENT EXPENSE TO BE SHARED, AS INDICATED IN
PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS SUBSECTION.

(5)   OF THE BALTIMORE COUNTY SHARE OF THE STATE
BASIC CURRENT EXPENSE, BALTIMORE COUNTY SHALL PAY TO LIDA
LEE TALL SCHOOL OF TOWSON STATE UNIVERSITY THE PERCENTAGE OF
THE STATE BASIC CURRENT EXPENSE OBTAINED BY DIVIDING THE
NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN LIDA LEE TALL SCHOOL BY THE TOTAL
NUMBER OF STUDENTS ENROLLED IN BALTIMORE COUNTY AND THE
LIDA LEE TALL SCHOOL.

(C) ADDITIONS TO STATE SHARE FOR COUNTY WITH
POPULATION DENSITY OVER 8,000 PER SQUARE MILE.

(1)   AN AMOUNT EQUIVALENT TO $75 PER STUDENT
ENROLLED ON SEPTEMBER 30 OF THE SCHOOL YEAR FOR WHICH THE
CALCULATION IS HADE SHALL BE ADDED TO THE STATE SHARE OF
BASIC CURRENT EXPENSES FOR A COUNTY THAT HAS A POPULATION
DENSITY OF OVER 8,000 PER SQUARE MILE AS DETERMINED BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE.

(2)    TWO THIRDS OF THIS ADDITIONAL AMOUNT SHALL
BE USED TO PROVIDE COMPENSATORY PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS WITH
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS THAT HAVE RESULTED FROM
EDUCATIONALLY OR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED ENVIRONMENTS.

(3)   THE COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT FOR ANY COUNTY
QUALIFYING FOR THIS ADDITIONAL AMOUNT SHALL SUBMIT PLANS TO
THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT FOR HIS APPROVAL THAT OUTLINE HOW
THESE COMPENSATORY FUNDS ARE TO BE USED.

In this section, the defined tern "students" or
"students enrolled" is substituted for "pupils"
or "pupils enrolled" for uniformity. The word
"student" is substituted for the word "pupil" in
