49 Ex.d This Indenture made the Eighth day of January in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty three Between Clement Hollyday and Nathaniel Ramsey Commissioners appointed to preserve Confiscated British Property of the one part and John Gassaway of Anne Arundel County of the other part Whereas The aforesaid Commissioners by an act Entitled and Act for the Sale of Certain Confiscated British property pledged for redemption of Certificates and an act Entitled an act to postpone the Sale of Certain Confiscated British property for the Redemption of Certificates Were directed to lay off My Ladys manor in Baltimore or Baltimore and Harford Counties in Convenient Lots and the Same to Sell at Public Sale and and the Said Commissioners did by virtue and in pursuance of the Said Acts and in Conformity to the directions thereof sell the Same on the Twenty Second day of October last past at which Said Sale the aforesaid John Gassaway became the Purchasor of Lot number Seventy five part of said Manor he being the Highest bidder therefor at and for the Sum of One hundred and Fifty five pounds Specie Now This Indenture witnesseth That the aforesaid Clement Hollyday and Nathaniel Ramsey for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred and Fifty five Pounds in Certificates aforesaid to them in hand paid by the said John Gassaway Have Granted Bargained Sold aliened released and Confirmed and by these presents Do Grant Bargain Sell alien release and Confirm unto the Aforesaid John Gassaway the aforesaid Lott of ground Number Seventy five being part of My Lady's manor aforesaid and Containing Eighty eight and a half acres more or less (saving the right if any under a lease granted by the Late lord Baltimore formerly proprietor of The manor aforesaid) Together with all and Singular the Advantages Hereditaments Privileges and Appurtenances whatsoever to the Same belonging or in any wise appurtaining and also all the right Title and Estate Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever which Henry Harford Esquire of Great Britain or any other Person Claiming under the Late lord Baltimore formerly had in and to the Second and every part and parcel thereof and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and profits thereof To have and to hold The aforesaid Lot of Ground with all and Singular the Premises and Appurtenances (Saving the right before mentioned if any) unto him the Said John Gassaway his heirs and Assigns forever and to and for no Other use Intent or Purpose whatsoever In witness whereof the Parties to these presents have hereunto Set their hands and Affixed their Seals the day and Year Above written Clem.t Hollyday (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered In presence of (The words " in Certificates " being first Nath Ramsey (seal) interlined A C Hanson |
