       On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed viz.t  On the 8.th day of January
       1783 Came before the Subscriber one of the Judges of the General Court The within named
       Clement Hollyday and Nathaniel Ramsey and acknowledged the within Instrument
       of writing to be their act and deed and the Land and premises therein mentioned
       to be the right Title and Estate of the within named John Gassaway his heirs and
       assigns forever according to the True intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly
       in Such case made and provided

       This Indenture made this Second day of May Seventeen hundred and Eighty
       three  Between Rebecca Hammond of Baltimore County Widow of the one part and
       Matthias Hammond of the Same county of the other part  Witnesseth That the
       Said Rebecca Hammond for and in Consideration of the Natural Love and affection
       that She bears to her sad son Matthias and for and in Consideration of the
       Sum of Five Shillings Sterling money to her in hand paid by the said Matthias
       Hammond The receipt whereof she doth hereby acknowledge Hath given granted
       bargained and Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed  And by these presents Doth
       Give grant Bargain and Sell Alien Enfeoff and confirm unto him the Said
       Matthias Hammond his heirs and assigns after my decease forever all Those two
       Parts of Two tracts or Parcells of Land lying and being in Anne Arundel County and
       which was left me by my Father Matthew Hawkins deceased the one called
       Burlip Hill and the other called Pettibones best also all my right Title and Interest
       of all the Land that I have a right to in Annarundel County which came to me
       as one of the heirs of my Mother Rachel Hawkins deceased unto my Loving Son
       Matthias Hammond after my decease forever  Together with all and Singular the
       Premises and Appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Matthias
       Hammond his heirs and assigns forever after my decease with all rights benefits
       and privileges thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining And the Said
       Rebecca Hammond doth for herself and her heirs Executors and administrators Covenant and
       Agree to and with the Said Matthias Hammond his heirs and assigns that She
       the said Rebecca Hammond and her heirs shall and will warrant and forever
       defend the aforesaid lands and premises unto the said Matthias Hammond and
       his assigns from and against all manner of Person or Persons whatsoever  Claiming
       any right or Title to the Said land above described and Expressed from and
