       bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these
       presents the said Luther Martin doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff
       Release and Confirm unto the said Jeremiah Townley Chase his heirs
       and assigns all the said Lands Purchased by the said Luther Martin of
       the ^said^ Baltimore Company as aforesaid all those Lots of Ground held by the
       said Luther Martin on Charles Street in Baltimore Town and the Buildings
       erected erecting ^and^ or to be erected thereon with all other Improvements and
       appurtenances and all the Lands and Lots of ground purchased by the said
       Luther Martin of the state being part of Whetstone Point and all the Estate
       Right Title and Interest of the said Luther Martin of in and to the whole
       of the said Lands Lots of ground Buildings and Improvements and each
       of them as well in Law as in equity To have and To hold the said Lands
       Lots of ground Buildings and Improvements herein before mentioned and
       described and every of them and all the Estate right Title and Interest of
       the said Luther Martin of in and to the same and each of them as well in
       Law as in Equity To the said Jeremiah Townley Chase his heirs and assigns
       forever Provided always and these presents are upon this condition that
       if the said Luther Martin his heirs Executors and administrators or assigns do
       and shall pay unto the said Jeremiah Townley Chase his Executors Administrators
       or assigns the said sum of Five Shillings Current Money and do and
       shall well and truly indemnify and save harmless the said Jeremiah
       Townley Chase his heirs Executors or Administrator against all Damages
       Injury Costs and Expences which the said Jeremiah Townly Chase his Heirs
       Executors or Administrators shall and may sustain or incur for or by means
       of the said Jeremiah Townley Chase his becoming security as aforesaid
       for the said Luther Martin in the said Bond to the said Baltimore Company
       as aforesaid Then his Deed to be void otherwise to be in full force and Virtue
       In Testimony whereof the said Luther Martin hath hereunto set his
       hand and Seal the day and year first above written

                On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed (to wit)

                   Maryland on the fifth day of October Anno Domini one
       thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Came the within Named
       Luther Martin before me the underwritten one of the Judges of the General
       Court and Acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act
       and Deed and the Lands Lots of ground and Premisses within Mentioned
       and Described to be the right Title and Estate of the within named
