       Edward Stevenson his Heirs and Assigns for ever and for no other Intent or
       Purpose whatsoever the said Tract or Parcel of Land called Addition to Strawberry
       Plains containing forty Acres of Land more or less as aforesaid with its Appurtenances
       And the said Charles Carroll doth covenant and agree with him the said Edward
       Stevenson that he the said Edward Stevenson his Heirs and Assigns for ever shall
       and may have hold and enjoy the said Land and Premisses  Warranted and
       Defended as well against him the said Charles Carroll as against any Person or
       Persons claiming by from ^by^ or under him his Heirs or Assigns  In Witness
       whereof the said Charles Carroll hath to these Presents set his Hand and affixed
       his Seal the Day and Year first above written
       Signed Sealed and Delivered                                    Cha.s Carroll         (LS)
       in the Presence of us

       Henry Sibell

       On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorsed (Viz.t)

       Received the Day and Year within mentioned of the within named Edward Stevenson
       the Sum of ninety five Pounds Current Money of Maryland being the full
       consideration Money within mentioned

       On the 20.th Day of April 1774 came before me the Subscriber one of his
       Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland the within named
       Charles Carroll and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed and the
       Land and Premisses within mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within
       Edward Stevenson his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent
       and Meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Cases
       made and provided                                             Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer
6 sides & one half

       Received of M.r Edward Stevenson the Sum of One Shilling and eight
       Pence Sterling for the Alienation Fine due on the within Land to the
       Lord Proprietary by Virtue of a Commission from Daniel of S.t Thomas
       Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General
