       April 11.th 1774 came before us two of his Lordships Justices for the Body of Ann Arundel County
       the within named John Cowman and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed
       and the Land and premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named
       William Murdock his Heirs and Assigns forever according to the purport true Intent and
       Meaning of the same Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided
       Then came also before us Sarah Cowman the Wife of the said John Cowman and being by us
       privated examined a part and from the Hearing of her said Husband did declare that she did
       release her Right of Dower in the said premisses unto the within named William Murdock his
       Heirs and Assigns and did also declare that she did so release and make this Acknowledgement
       voluntarily and freely without being induced thereto by Fears or Threats of or ill Usage of
       her said Husband or Fear of his Displeasure

       the Alienation Fine due on the within Land to the Lord Proprietary by Virtue of a
9½ Sides   Commission from Dan.l of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver

       This Indenture made this eleventh Day of April in the Year of our Lord
       seventeen hundred and seventy four  Between James LLoyd Chamberlaine of Talbot County in the
       Province of Maryland Gentleman of the one Part and Francis Baker of the said County and Province
       aforesaid Farmer of the other part  Whereas the said Francis Baker on or about ^the^ thirtieth Day of
       March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one by Indenture duly made
       and recorded for and in Consideration of making the said James LLoyd Chamberlaine whole and securing
       him against any Injury that he might suffer or sustain by Means of his Engagement to discharge
       a Judgment obtained by a certain James Hutchings of Kent Island in the Provincial Court against
       the said Francis Baker for twelve hundred and nine Pounds seven Shillings Current Money
       and the Sum of eight hundred and sixty seven Pounds of Tobacco Cost of Suit did grant bargain
       sell alien release convey and confirm unto the said James LLoyd Chamberlaine and to his Heirs
       and Assigns for ever all that Tract of Land called Skipton in Talbot County aforesaid containing
       three hundred Acres and also all that two hundred Acres of Land Part of a Tract of Land
       in the County aforesaid called Finneys Hermitage whereof the said Francis was possessed
