Ex.d
       This Indenture made this twenty seventh Day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand
       seven hundred and seventy four Between Samuel Howard of Ann Arundel County Planter
       of the one Part and Joseph Selby of the City of Annapolis Sadler of the other Part  Witnesseth
       that the same Samuel Howard for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and seventy
       four Pounds Current Money to him in Hand paid by the same Joseph Selby at or before the sealing
       and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof us hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained
       and sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell
       alien release enfeoff and confirm unto the same Joseph Selby his Heirs and Assigns all that his the
       same Samuel Howards undivided Moiety or half Part of a Tract or Parcel of Land called Content
       containing Two hundred and forty Acres all his the same Samuels undivided Moiety or half
       Part of a Tract or Parcel of Land called Providence containing Two hundred and forty Acres
       more or less & also all that his the same Samuel Howards undivided Moiety or half Part of a Tract
       or Parcell of Land called Beaverdam enriched containing One hundred and thirty Acres more
       or less which said several Tracts or Parcells of Land are situate & lie in Frederick County together
       with all and singular the Improvements Buildings Ways Priviledges Advantages Commodities
       and Appurtenances whatsoever to the undivided Moi^e^ties or half Parts of the Tracts of Land aforesaid
       belonging  And the reversion and reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits
       thereof  And also all the Estate Right Title Use Trust Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of
       him the same Samuel of in to & out of the same and every part thereof  To have and to hold the
       aforesaid undivided Moieties or half Parts of the Tracts or Parcells of Land aforesaid and every
       Part and Parcell thereof and all and singular the Premisses with the Appurtenances unto the
       same Joseph Selby his Heirs and Assigns to his and their own proper Use & Behoof for ever
       In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto interchangeably set their
       Hands and affixed their Seals the Day and Year first above written

       H Ridgely                                       On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed Viz.t

       Received on the Day and Year first within written from the within Joseph Selby the Sum of Two
       hundred and seventy four Pounds Current Money being the Consideration Money within mentioned
       to be by him paid me   Test

       On the twenty seventh Day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred
       and seventy four came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of
       the Peace for Ann Arundel County the within Samuel Howard and also Jemima Howard
       the Wife of the said Samuel and severally and respectively acknowledged the within
       Instrument of Writing to be the Act and Deed of the same Samuel Howard to and for the
