595) Elizabeth Protter, Hannah King, Frances Richardson, Jn.o Harrison Richard Lindley John Brown John Flownders John Blamer John Alderson, Daniel Coats James Backhouse, Elizabeth Brown Mary Rutherford, Jane Adamson Ann Harrison Margaret Adamson Rachel Coats Elizabeth Smith Mary Hunt, John Thornhill, Elizabeth Smith, Margaret Hodgson These are therefore to certify all whom it may concern that that the above Writing is a true Copy of the Marriage Certificate of Robinson Wakefield of North Shields in the County of Northumberland with Ann Fell Daughter of Edward Fell late of Over Kellet in the County of Lancaster but formerly of Patapsco in Maryland Merchant and that the Marriage of the said Robinson Wakefield with the said Ann Fell was solemnized agreable to the established Rules of the Christian Society of People called Quakers, in Great Britain, at which we were present and then and there subscribed our Names as Witnesses in the Certificate above mentioned James Backhouse Clk at the Marriage Richard Lindley John Flounders Be it Known and made manifest to all People to whom these Presents shall come that on this ninth Day of March one thousand seven hundred and seventy three before me Robert Preston Mayor of Stockton in the County of Durham and also Notary Publick by Royal Authority admitted and sworn personally appeared James Backhouse of Darlington in the said County of Durham Flaxdresser Richard Lindley of the same Place Flaxdresser and John Flounders of Crathorn in the County of York Bleacher being People called Quakers and three of the Witnesses named in the Certificate first above mentioned and upon their Solem Affirmation affirmeth and saith that the first above mentioned Writing is a true Copy of the marriage Certificate of Robinson Wakefield of North Shields in the County of Northumberland with Ann Fell Daughter of Edward Fell late of Over Kellet in the County of Lancaster but formerly of Patapsco in Maryland Merchant and that they severally compared and examined the same with the original Marriage Certificate and that the last above mentioned Certificate subscribed by these Affirmants is in every Respect true and just And I do also certify that the said original Marriage Certificate was this Day produced and shewn to me And that I did carefully examine and compare the same with the said first above mentioned Writing and that the same Writing 8 Sides is a true Copy thereof In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed the Seal of the Corporation of Stockton aforesaid this ninth Day of March one thousand seven hundred and seventy three R Preston Mayor (LS) Recorded 2.d Day of February 1774 |
