495) and still are two of his Lordships the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary his Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates by them so given as such due faith and Credit is and Ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed (LS) the Public Seal of the County aforesaid this twenty second day of April seventeen Hundred and seventy three A Lawson Clk Balt.r County Court Received the 1.st of January 1773 of William Russell the Sum of Four hundred and thirty five pounds twenty shillings and six pence sterling being the Consideration money within mentioned William Cockey Henry Barnes April the 29.th 1773 Received of M.r William Russell the sum of seventeen Shillings sterling for an Alienation fine due on the within Land by Virtue of a Commission from Dan.l of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Jn.o Brice 13 sides Recorded the 29.th of April 1773 Maryland fs.t X.d This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of April in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and seventy three Between Rachel Lyde Goodwin Daughter of Pleasance Goodwin of Baltimore County in the Province aforesaid Widow of the one part and Charles Ridgely son of John of the same County Merchant of the other part Whereas Col.o Charles Ridgely late of Baltimore County deceased by his Deed of Indenture bearing date the twenty fourth day of April In the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and fifty three and by him duly executed for the consideration therein mentioned did give ^and^ grant unto a certain Lyde Goodwin and the above named Pleasance Goodwin his wife and Daughter of him the said Charles Ridgely part of a Tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County aforesaid called Timber Neck and Containing by Estimation Ten acres of Land more or less as the same is in the said Deed described To Hold to them the said Lyde and Pleasance Goodwin for and during the Term of their natural Lives and the Life of the Survivor of them remainder to the above nam'd Rachel Goodwin their Daughter and her Heirs forever And Whereas the said Lyde Goodwin is since dead and the above named Pleasance Goodwin by an Instrument of writing unto her Hand and seal bearing even date with these presents for a Consideration therein mentioned Hath surrendered and yielded up to the aforesaid Rachel Lyde Goodwin all the said parcel of Land and all the Estate Right and Title of her the said Pleasance Goodwin of in and to the same and every part thereof with the appurtenances whereby the said Rachel Goodwin hath become seized |
