177 wife their heirs and assigns the said Land & Premisses with the Appurtenances from and against ^them the said John Morre & Cassandra his Wife & their heirs & from^ ^& against all Manner of Person or Persons claiming by from or Under them their heirs and Assigns and from and against all Persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the said Parties to these Presents have hereunto set their hands and affixed their Seals the Day and year within written Benj.a Mackall 4.th (seal) Signed Sealed and Delivered in the Presence of Jn.o Moore (seal) Philip Thomas Lee Cassandra Moore (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was Endorsed as follows, to wit, Received the Day and Year above mentioned of the within named Alexander the Sum of Thirty five Pounds Current Money being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be paid by him to me P me Test; John Mackall Jun.r Jn.o Moore On the fourth day of May 1771 Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within named Benjamin Mackall (the fourth) and John Moore and Cassandra his wife and severally acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their Respective Act and Deed and the land within mentioned with it's Appurtenances to be the Right and Estate of the within named Alexander Frazier his heirs and Assigns forever and the said Cassandra wife to the said John Moore being by me privately examined out of the hearing of her Husband declared that she made the above Acknowledgment willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by force or Threats of ill Usage by her Husband or fear of his Displeasure taken according to ^the^ Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Philip Thomas Lee Received of Alexander Frazier the sum of one Shilling and eight Pence Sterling (for use of Lord Baltimore) the Alienation fine on the within land by virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Recorded this 10th Day of May 1771 J Brice 7½ sides Ex.d To all People whom it may Concern that I Margaret Cumming widow and Relect of William Cumming late of the City of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland Esq.r Deceased Sendeth Greeting Know ye that the said Margaret Cumming for and in Consideration of the Sum Seventy Pounds Cur.t Mony to her in hand paid by Alexander Cumming of Baltimore Town in Baltimore Son of the said William Cumming hath remised Released And for Ever Quit Claimed and by these Presents Doth Remise Release and for ever Quit Claim unto the said Alexander Cumming all and all manner of Dower and all Right and Title of Dower whatsoever which she said Margaret Cumming now haith may might should of Right ought to have or Claim of in or out of all and every Part of a certain Tract of Land called Norway lying and being in Frederick County in the Province of Maryland which was the said William Cumming her late Husbands at any time During the Coverture Between the said Margaret Cumming and William Cumming And also all manner of Action and writs of Dower whatsoever So that Neither She the said Margaret Cumming or any Person for her or any in her Name any manner of Dower or writ or Action of Dower or any Right Title of Dower of or in the said Tract of Land called Norway or of or in any Part (Parcel) |
