          This Indenture made this Twenty ninth Day of October in the year of our Lord One
       Thousand Seven hundred and sixty eight Between Robert Payne of the Borough of Helstone
0 sides   in the County of Cornwall in the Kingdom of England Hatter & Brother and Heir at Law of
       George Payne late of Anne Arundel County in the Province of Maryland deceased of the one
       Part and William Woodward near the head of Severn in Anne Arundel County aforesaid Gentleman
       of the other Part   Witnesseth That the said Robert Payne for and in Consideration of the sum
       of One hundred and thirty seven Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to him paid or
       Secured to be paid hath granted bargained sold aliened released and Confirmed and by these
       Presents doth grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto the said William Woodward
       and to his heirs and Assigns forever All those two pieces or parcells of Land following Viz.t One
       hundred and fifty acres of Land lying on or near South River Branches being part of
       five hundred Acres of Land Called Howards or Porters Range beginning for the said
       One hundred and fifty acres of Land at a Bounded Red Oak where Philip Howard's
       land ends and runing West one hundred and seventeen Perches to a bounded red oak
       of Peter Porters Land then runing South Two hundred and ninety Perches then East
       till it intersects Philip Howards Land containing and Laid out for One hundred
       and fifty Acres of Land more or less   Also twenty Six Acres and one half Acre of Land
       (bounding on the Preceding One hundred and Fifty Acres) being part of two hundred and sixty
       Acres of Land Called Hereford beginning for the said twenty Six Acres and one half Acre of
       Land at a bounded Oak of a Parcell of Land Called Howard's and Porters Range and
       runing West by South forty Six perches to a marked Oak then south and by West fifty
       Perches to a White Oak by a Branch then runing South south East forty Perches bounding
       on the branch to a bounded Poplar then east south East forty perches to the line of the land
       called Howards & Porters Range then bounding on the said Land to the first bounded
       Tree Containing Containing twenty Six Acres and one half Acre of Land more or less
       amounting together ^the^ Quantity of One hundred and Seventy Six Acres and one half Acre
       of Land with all and Singular the Appurtenances to the said One hundred and Seventy
       Six Acres and one half Acre of Land Belonging or in any wise Appertaining To Have and
       to hold the said two pieces or parcells of Land (that is to say) One hundred One hundred &
       fifty Acres part of Howards and Porters Range as aforesaid and twenty Six Acres and one
       half Acre part of Hereford as aforesaid with the Appurtenances unto the said William
       Woodward and his heirs and Assigns forever and the said Robert ^Payne^ doth hereby
       for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators covenant promise         and agree
       to and with the said William Woodward his heirs Executors and Administrators
