(592) that he the said Robert Payne his heirs Executors and Administrators the said Land and Premises hereby Granted or sold or mentioned to be Granted or sold and every part & parcell thereof with all ^and^ Singular their Appurtenances against him the said Robert Payne and all and every other Person or persons whatsoever shall & will warrant and forever defend by these presents and lastly the said Robert Payne hath Constituted Ordained and appointed and in his stead and place put and by these presents doth Constitute Ordain appoint and his Stead and Place put Thomas Ringgold & Nathan Hammond of the province of Maryland Merchants and each or either of them his true and Lawfull Attornies or Attorney for him and ^in^ his name to acknowledge these Presents to be the Act and Deed of him the said Robert Payne and the Lands and Premises herein before mentioned to be the Estate right and title of him the said William Woodward his heirs and Assigns according to the Acts of Assembly of the said Province in such cases made and Provided he the said Robert Payne hereby ratifying and Confirming whatever his said Attorneys or either of them shall do in that Behalf by Force and Virtue of these Presents as fully as if the said Robert Payne had been personally present doing the same In Witness whereof the Parties first above mentioned have hereunto set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year above Written Sealed and Delivered Robart Payne (seal) in presence of William Randolph James Thomas On the Back of the aforegoing deed was thus Endorsed to wit Received July 21.st 1769 of the within William Woodward the sum of One hundred and thirty Seven Pounds Sterling Money for the use of the within mentioned Robert Payne in full Consideration for the within bargained and Sold Lands P me Th.s Ringgold Attorney for Rob.t Payne July 21.st 1769 Came James Thomas one of the subscribing Witnesses to the within Deed & Power of Attorney in Person before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of the Province of Maryland and made Oath that he saw the within Deed and Power of Attorney at the Date thereof and that he the Deponant did then Sign his name as a Witness thereto as did also William Randolph the other Subscribing Witness at the same time In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand B Hands (Be) |
