(590) Excepted and the said Robert Burchfield for himself and his heirs doth Covenant Promise grant & agree to and with the said Charles Wells his heirs and Assigns Charles Wells & his heirs & Assignes that he the said Robert Burchfield shall & will forever warrant and defend the said tract or parcells of Land & other the Bargained Premises free from all manner of Incumbrances and Claims of any person or Persons Claiming or to Claim any right title ^or^ Interest thereunto in Witness whereof the said Robert Burchfield hath Hereunto set his hand and affixt his seal the Day and year first above written his Signed Sealed & Delivered Robert R B Burchfield (Seal) in the Presence of mark N.B. the words "and province of Maryland planter of the one part" and the words "& said Province" of the other part" between the second and third lines being first Interlined And also the words "Long" between the eight & ninth lines being first interlined And also the words Charles Wells his heires and assigns Between the ninteenth and twentieth lines being first Interlined Sam.l Bai Ley Tho.s Worthington On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written March y.e 23.d 1769 Received of Charles Wells twenty Pounds Currency Money being the Consideration Money within mentioned being in full for the within Land and Premises his Witness Sam.l Bai Ley Robert R B Burchfield mark Maryland March y.e 3.d 1769 Came the within named Robert Burchfield Before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and Acknowledged the within Instrument of writing as his act & Deed and within Land & Premises to be the right and Estate of the within mentioned Charles Wells his heirs & Assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of these Presents At the same time came Elizabeth Burchfield wife of the said Robert Burchfield who being Privately Examined agreeable to act of assembly Relinquished her right of dower to the within Land & Premises and that she makes the same freely without being induced thereto by the threats or ill usage of her said Husband or for fear of his Displeasure Before J B Bordley Rec.d July the 21.st of M.r Charles Wells the sum of two shillings and one Penny Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the alienation fine on the within Land by Virtue of Co^m^mission from Daniel of S. T. Jenifer his Lordships agent and receiver General J Brice Recorded the 21.st Day of July 1769 |
