(583) Annapolis in the said province of Maryland Esquires his True and lawfull attorneys jointly and Severally for him and in his Name to Acknowledge these presents to be the Act and Deed of the said Edmund Jennings party hereto and the Messuage hereditaments and premises herein before Mentioned to be the Estate right and Title of him the said Robert Eden his heirs and assigns according to an Act of Assembly of the province aforesaid in such Cases made and provided he the said Edmund Jennings hereby ratifying and Confirming whatsoever his said attorneys or either of them shall do in that Behalf by Force and Virtue of these presents as fully as if he the said Edmund Jennings had been personally present doing the same In Witness whereof the said partys have to these presents set their hands and Seals the Day and year first above written Sealed and Delivered Edm Jenings (Seal) in the presence of Robert Smith John Robinson On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed to wit Received the Day and Year first within written of and from the within Named Robert Eden the Sum of One thousand pounds in full of the Consideration Money within Mentioned to be by him paid to me as witness my Hand 3000£ Witness Robert Smith Edm Jenings John Robinson June the 15.th 1769 Then Came Robert Smith one of the Witnesses to the within mentioned Deed before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary's Justices of the Provincial Court and made Oath on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he saw the within mentioned Edmund Jenings Sign his name and Affix his Seal to the within mentioned Deed and deliver it as his Act and Deed for the Uses and Purposes therein Mentioned he also makes oath in form aforesaid that he saw the other Witness John Robinson write his Name in his presence at the same time Geo Steuart June the 15.th 1769 Then came before one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the Honourable John Beale Bordley Esq of Baltimore Town one of the Persons appointed by the within mentioned Edmund Jennings Esq.r to make acknowledgement of the within Deed on his Behalf who agreeable to the Powers to him given did acknowledge the within instrument of writing to be the Act and Deed of the within mentioned Edmund Jenings Esq.r and the Messuage Lands and Premises therein particularly Specified to be the Right and Estate of his Excellency Robert Eden Esq.r his heirs and Assigns according to the true intent and Meaning of the said Deed and of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Geo Steuart 1769 June 16.th Rec.d of His Excellency Robert Eden Esq.r One penny Sterling (for) |
