(570) intended for the Uses & Purposes therein Mentioned recorded 31.st May 1769 Geo Steuart Ex.d Ann Arundall County fs.t This Indenture made this First Day of June Anno 5½ Domini One thousand Seven hundred & Sixty nine between John Lawton of Ann Arundall C.o of the one part & William Hencock of the same County planter on the Other Part witnesseth that the said John Lawton for and in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said William Hencock at & before the Sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath granted bargained Sold & Deliverd & by these presents doth grant bargain Sell & deliver unto him the sid William Hencock his heirs and assigns forever two houses & Lotts Situated in Situation in Captall Court London now in the Occupation of M.r Jn.o Dolignon Merch.t in London allso one Bay mare called pleasure with all his houshold furniture unto him the said William Hencock his heirs Executors Adm.rs & Assigns to have & to hold the said Premises unto him the said William Hencock his heirs Executors Adm.rs or Assigns & to & for no Other Use intent or purpose whatsoever & the said Jn.o Lawton for himself his heirs Executors Adm.rs or Assigns Covenants to warrant & for ever to defend the said premises unto him the said William Hencock his Heirs Executors or Assigns against all persons and Claims whatsoever Provided always & is it the true intent & meaning of these presents that if the said John Lawton his Executors or Adm.rs do and shall well & truly pay unto the s.d William Hencock his Ex.s Ad.s or Assigns the said Sum of fifty Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain with legall Interest for the same together with the charge of recording his Deed at or upon the first Day of June one thousand Seven hundred & Seventy two then these presents is to be void & of none Effect Otherwise to stand in full force & virtue of law In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have interchangeably Set their hands & Affixed their Seals the Day & Year first above written Sealed & Delivered J Lawton Jun.r (Seal) in Presence of John Gray Elisha Mattock on the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed viz.t 1769 June 5.th Rec.d of and for the within named William Hencock the sum of Fifty Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain being the Consideration Money within Mentioned J Lawton Jun.r Witness John Gray Elisha Mattock 1769 June 5.th Came the within named John Lawton before me the (subscriber) |
