57 sold as aforesaid thereby to extinguish or transfer any possible interest he or they may have herein and also that the said Charles Wallace his executors administrators or assigns shall not be answerable or chargeable for the solvency or sufficiency of the purchasers or any of them but only for such monies as he shall actually receive and further that in case money sufficient shall not be raised and actually received by the said Charles Wallace his executors administrators or assigns to answer all the said purpose that then the said Cornelius Garretson his heirs executors administrators & assigns shall and will well and truly pay what shall be defecient to answer comply with and satisfy all the said Purposes with Legal Interest on such Deficiency In Witness whereof the said Cornelius Garretson hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Corn.s Garretson (Seal) W.m Steuart Rob.t Couden On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written (viz.t) Oct.r 31.st 1765 Reced Ten Shillings current money being the consideration money within mentioned W.m Steuart Corn.s Garretson Rob.t Couden Oct.r 31 1765 Cornelius garretson acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed and the Goods and Chattels therein mentioned to be the Right and Title of the within mentioned Charles Wallace his Heirs and assigns forever agreeable to the Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided Taken and Acknowledged before us two of his Lordships Justices of Ann Arundel the day & year above mentioned Received 31.st October 1765 W.m Steuart Sides Rob.t Couden Examined This Indenture Made this thirty first Day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and sixty five Between Stephen Watkins of Ann Arundel County planter of the one Part and Thomas Sprigg of Ann Arundel County Gentleman of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Stephen Watkins for and in consideration of the Sum of eight hundred and twenty five pounds Sterling Money to him in hand paid by (the) |
