(381) the said Thomas Johnson Jun.r his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and every of them by these presents hath given granted bargained sold aliened released and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto him the said Thomas Johnson Jun.r his heirs and Assigns forever all that Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in Frederick County called Rich Forest originally granted unto Edward Dorsey Esq.r the Uncle of the said Thomas Dorsey containing one hundred and twenty five Acres of Land more or less Together with all ways Waters Water Courses Woods under Woods priviledges Advantages and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said Tract of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Revertion and Revertions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest use Trust possession property Claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Thomas Dorsey of in or to the same To have and to hold the said Tract of Land and premisses with its Rights Members and Appurtenances to him the said Thomas Johnson Jun.r his heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Thomas Johnson Jun.r his heirs and Assigns forever and to or for no other use Intent or purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and Affixed their Seals the Day and Year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Tho.s Dorsey (seal) Henry Dorsey Josa Dorsey Reced on the Day and Year first within written of and from the within named Tho.s Johnson Jun.r one hundred and ten pounds Current Money of Pensylvania being the Consideration within mentioned to be by him paid to me I say reced by Tho.s Dorsey Witness Joshua Dorsey On the 5 Day of April 1768 Came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County the within mentioned Thomas Dorsey and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the Land and premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named Thomas Johnson Jun.r his heirs and Assigns according to the True intent and meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided And on the same Day and Year came also before us Elizabeth Dorsey the wife of the said Tho.s Dorsey and she being by us privately examined apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband did acknowledge that she did relinquish and release to the said Thomas Johnson Jun.r and his heirs all Dower and Right and Title of Dower of in and to the said Land and Appurtenances within mentioned and she did declare that she made such Relinquishment and this her Acknowledgment voluntarily and freely without being induced thereto by Fears or Threats of or ill usage from her said Husband or through fear of his Displeasure the word Dorsey interlined before signing the above Acknowledgm.ts Taken and Certified by H Ridgely John Burgess Jun (Ann) |
