(380) and meaning of these presents In Witness whereof the said Nicholas Watkins Ju.r hath hereunto set his Hand and affixed his seal the Day and Year above written Signd Seal'd and Delivered in the presence of us Nich.s Watkins Jun.r (seal) Jo.s Sprigg Rich.d Duckett Jun.r Received this eleventh Day of April Anno Domini 1768 of the within named Charles Worthington the sum of one hundred and sixty Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain the Consideration within mentioned I say Received by me Witness Jo.s Sprigg Rich.d Duckett Jun.r Nich.s Watkins Jun.r Memorandum that on the eleventh Day of April Anno Domini 1768 came the within named Nicholas Watkins Ju.r and acknowledged the within Land and Premisses to be the right and Estate of the within named Charles Worthington his heirs and Assigns forever also Peggy the wife of the said Nicholas Watkins Ju.r being privately Examined as the Law directs acknowledged her Right of Dower to the same to be the Right of the said Charles Worthington his heirs and Assigns forever and that she did the same of her own free will and voluntary consent without being Compelled thereto by any threats of her said Husband or for fear of his Displeasure taken and acknowledged before us two of his Lordships ^Justices^ of Prince Georges County Jo.s Sprigg Rich.d Duckett Jun.r Maryland Prince Georges County fs.t April 11.th 1768 I hereby Certifie that Mess.rs Jo.s Sprigg and Richard Duckett Jun.r who L S Signed the within Deed was at the Time of Signing the same and still are two of his Lordships Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid Thomas Sim Lee Clk Rec.d of Charles Worthington the sum of sixteen shillings and nine pence half penny being the Alienation Fine on the with Land by Virtue of a Commission from the Lord Proprietary of this province April 11.th 1768 Bennet Allen Recorded the 12.th Day of April 1768 12¼ sides Ex.d This Indenture made this nineteenth Day of March in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and sixty eight Between Thomas Dorsey of Ann Arundel County Gentleman of the one part and Thomas Johnson Jun.r of the City of Annapolis Attorney at Law of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Dorsey for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred and ten pounds Current Money of Pensylvania to him in Hand paid at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents the Receit whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth release Acquit and discharge (the) |
