(359) and premisses with the Appurtenances free and Clear and freely and Clearly acquitted exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of bargains sales Leases or Mortgages by us heretofore made Furthermore we the said Ignatius Joy and Athanasius Joy for ourselves our and each of our heirs Executors and Administrators do covenant and ingage the above demised premisses to him the said Athanasius Ford his heirs and Assigns against the lawful Claims or Demands of any person or persons Claiming by from or under us our or Each of our heirs Executors & Administrators or any of them hereafter to claim shall and will forever warrant secure and Defend (the rents and services which shall hereafter grow due and payable to the Chief Lord or Lords of the fee or fees always excepted and foreprized In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our Hands and affixed our Seals the Day and year first above written Ignatius Joy Juner (seal) Signed Sealed & Delivered in presence of his Rob.t Chesley Hugh Hopewell Athanasius + Joy (seal) Mark August the seventh 1767 Received of Athanasius Ford the sum of seventeen Pounds Sterl.g in full for the Consideration of the within Land his Rec.d P us Ignatius Joy Junr Athan.s + Joy Saint Marys County to wit August the seventh 1767 mark This Day came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid Ignatius Joy and Athanasius Joy and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their Act and Deed and the Land and premisses therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named Athanasius Ford his Heirs and Assigns for ever At the same Time came Ann the wife of the said Ignatius Joy also Elizabeth wife of the said Athanasius Joy who being by us privately examined out of the hearing of their said Husbands according to the Act of Assembly, Acknowledged their rights of Dower to the within Land and acknowledged that they did the same freely and voluntarily without being Induced thereto by fear threats or compulsion of their said Husbands or thro' fear of their Displeasure Rob.t Chesley Hugh Hopewell S.t Marys County fs.t I hereby Certify that Mess.rs Robert Chesley and Hugh Hopewell Gentlemen before whom the above acknowledgment was taken were at the Day of the Date thereof two of his Lordships Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates given by them as such Due faith and Credit is and ought to be in Justice Court and thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set LS my Hand and Seal of Office this 29.th Day of October 1767 Benjamin Young Clk (13) |
