(173) heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns shall and will warrant and for ever Defend by these presents In witness whereof the party first above Mentioned hath hereunto set his Hand and Affixed his Seal the day and year above written William Foard (seal) Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of J Hepburn, Henry Brookes On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written Viz.t 1767 Jan.y 17.th Then Received of Joseph Foard the Sum of Five Shillings Current Money the Consideration within mentioned Test J Hepburn William Foard 1767 Jan.y 17.th This day Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices for the Provincial Court the within Named William Foard and Acknowledged the land and premises Contained in the within Deed to be the Right of the within Named Joseph Foard his heirs and Assigns for ever According to an Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Taken and Acknowledged before me the day and year above written before J Hepburn 1767 February 10.th Received of M.r Joseph Foard the Sum of Ten shillings sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within land and by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships agent and receiver General JBrice 7 Sides Recorded 13.th February 1767 Exam.d This Indenture Made the Sixteenth day of February in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred sixty Seven Between William Rooke of Cæcil County in the province of Maryland Merchant of the one part and Francis Harris of the City of Philadelphia Merchant of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Rooke for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred Fifty seven pounds Eighteen Shill.gs and six pence Current Money to him the said William Rooke in hand paid by the said Francis Harris before the Sealing and Delivery of those Presents the receipt whereof he the William Rooke doth hereby Acknowledge hath and by these presents doth grant bargain sell assign Transfer and make over unto the said Francis Harris his heirs and Assigns for ever all that parcell of Land being part of his Lordships Manor of Susquehanna alias New Connaught lying and being Cecil County af.d Beginning at a marked hicory tree and Runing from thence north Seven degrees |
