200 Curtiss Creek, The aforesaid two Tracts of Land together and in the whole Amounting to Three hundred and fifty four Acres of Land more or less, as Reference being had to the said Deed remaining among the Land Records of the Provincial Court of Maryland more fully and at large may appear And Whereas the Proviso or Condition in the said Deed contained was not Performed or duly fulfilled by the said Patrick Creagh in his Life Time or by any person or Persons in his Behalf since his Decease, and that all the Matters and things Lands and Tenements in the said Deed expressed were Reputed to be greatly short in Value of the sum of Money due from the said Patrick Creagh for which the said Deed of Conveyance above Referred to was intended to be and stand as a security by way of Mortgage And whereas for the Raising of such sum or sums of Money which the Mortgaged premisses aforesaid might by sale produce (to be applied towards the Disharge and satisfaction of the sum due and intended to be secured as aforesaid The said two tracts of Land with their Appurtenances were Exposed to Public Sale to the best bidder by way of Auction and thereupon the said Charles Hammond did bid the sum of One Hundred and Fifty two Pounds Sterling Money of Great Brittain for the same which being the highest sum offered or bid for them on the said Publick Vendue, of course he the said Charles Hammond the Purchaser of the said Lands with their Appurtenances aforesaid And Whereas Bryan Philpot of [illegible] Town in Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland Merchant being the Agent or Attorney of the said Bartholomew Pomeroy and Joseph Hanson did at and upon the public |
