       Now this Indenture further Witnesseth that the said William Joseph
       for and in consideration of the sum of five Shillings Sterling to him in Hand paid by
       Charles Carroll Party to these Presents at and before the sealing & Delivery of these
       Presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and
       discharge him the said Charles Carroll by these Presents hath granted bargained sold
       aliened enfeoffed & confirmed & by these Presents doth grant bargain sell alien
       enfeoff & confirm unto him the said Charles Carroll all that Tract or Parcel of
       Land called the Forrest of Joseph lying in Dorchester County on the East side of
       Chesepeake bay & on the West side of Nantecoke River in the Forrest being
       now in the actual possession of him the said Charles Carroll Beginning at two
       marked Oaks Standing by a main branch of the said River about two Miles from
       Christopher Nutters Plantation & running down the said Branch South West and by
       South three hundred & twenty P.s thence south east eight hundred p.s to another
       main Branch of the said River thence with the said Branch North East & by
       North three hundred & twenty p.s thence with a Streight Line to the first
       Bounder containing & now laid out for fifteen hundred acres more or less according
       to the Certificate of Survey thereof taken & returned into the Land Office
       of this Province at the City of S.t Marys bearing Date the Twentieth Day of
       April Sixteen hundred & eighty Nine & there remaining upon Record Together
       with all Woods Underwoods Marshes Swamps Rights Profits Benefits
       Priviledges Advantages & Appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any
       way appertaining  To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land
       with all & Singular the Premisses & Appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging
       or in any wise appertaining granted or intended by these Presents to be granted
       & convey'd unto the said Charles Carroll & his Heirs for ever to the only proper
       Use & Behoof of him the said Charles Carroll & his Heirs & to no other Use
       Intent or purpose whatsoever  And the said William Joseph for himself his Heirs
       Executors & Administrators doth by these psents Covenant & Grant to & with the
       said Charles Carroll his Heirs Ex.rs and Adm.rs that he the said William his heirs
       Ex.rs & Adm.rs shall & will from time to time & at all Times hereafter acquit
       discharge & save harmless as well the said Tract of Land & Premisses with all
       & singular their appurtenances & every part & parcel thereof as also the said
       Charles Carroll his Heirs Ex.rs & Adm.rs of & from all manner of former bargains
       sales Premisses Jointures Dowers Conditions & all other Titles Charges &
       Incumbrances whatsoever had acknowledged done caused or made by the
