       Macnemara and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed and
       the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the
       within named Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns according to the Act of Assembly
       in that case made and Provided

       Fine for the Land within Mentioned for the Use of the Lord

x.d  This Indenture made the Eleventh day of March in the Year of our
       Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Between Bartholomew
       Pomeroy and Joseph Janson of London Merchants Surviving Assignees of
       John Philpot and John Hutchinson late of London Merchants Bankrupts
       of the one Part and Thomas Nicholls ^Junior^ of Frederick County in the Province of
       Maryland Planter of the other Part   Witnesseth that the said Bartholomew
       Pomeroy and Joseph Janson for and in consideration of the Sum of Sixty
       four Pounds Ten Shillings Sterling Money to them in hand paid the receipt
       whereof is hereby acknowledged  Have granted Bargained and Sold
       Aliened and Confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain and Sell
       Alien and Confirm unto the said Thomas Nicholls his Heirs and
       Assigns for ever all that parcel of Land (being part of a Tract of Land
       called Hermitage formerly lying in Prince Georges County but now is
       in Frederick County aforesaid which Thomas Butler by Deed Indented
       acknowledged and recorded did convey and make over unto Doctor Andrew Scott
       and the said Doctor Andrew Scott by Deed Indented acknowledged and recorded did
       convey and make over unto George Scott and the said John Philpot containing
       Two hundred acres more or less together with all the Dwelling Houses Out
       Houses Fences Orchards ways Waters Improvements Advantages and
                                                                                                 (Appurtenances)
