314 Meaning thereof That if the said Robert Parker his heirs or Assignes or any of them shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the abovesaid Henry Knowles his heirs ex.rs adm.rs or Assignes the full and Just Sume of five thousand pounds of very good tobacco in cask with eight per cent interest at or before the 17.th day of October which shall be in y.e year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixteen that then this Indre demise and grant and every article therein contained shall cease determine and be void & of none effect anything in these presents contained to y.e contrary in any wise Notwithstanding In Wittness whereof the said Rob.t Parker hath hereunto set his hand & seale the day & year above written Signed sealed and delivered in the Presence of us Nicholas Rogers Christ.r Randall Rob.t Parker Richard Owing Jun.r (sea) On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus endorst Viz.t M.d the 17.th day of October Anno Dom 1713 Came before us two of her Maj.tys Justices of the peace for this County of Baltemore in the province of Maryland the within named Robert Parker and acknowledged y.e within writeing to be his act & deed In wittness w.rof we have hereunto subscribed our names y.e day & year afd Richard Colegate Recorded June y.e 20.th 1715 Luke Raven Som.rset Co.ty fs x.d Whereas Cap.t Edward Hammond of the County afd hath for a Valuable Consideration menconed and expressed in a certain alienacon from the said Hamond to Cap.t Thos Purnell sold part of a tract of land called Shaftsbury to contain six hundred sixty five acres referrence to the said deed being had more largly doth and may appear but forasmuch as his Lordships Grant has not been hitherto made out for the said Tract of land called Shaftsbury only cert thereof returned and recorded in his Lopps land office for seven hundred Acres of Land bearing date y.e first day of October Anno Dom 1681 so that the said alien.a for that part sold to the said Thomas Purnell could not securely or surely pass according to the law useage and custome of this province and for the better secureing of the right and title of the s.d land to him the said Tho.s Purnell Know all men by these presents that I the said Edward Hammond do further Give grant alien sell assign and set over likewise by these presents I do give grant alien sell assigne and set over likewise by thes unto him the said Tho.s Purnell his heirs and Assignes for ever part of the afd tract of land called Shaftsbury scituate Lying and being (on) |
