211 his wife doe by these presents for them and their heirs covenant promise grant and agree to and with him the said Charles his heirs & Assignes that y.e said two parcell of Land and other the ^appurtenances^ premises are att the time of the Ensealing & Delivery of these ^presents^ Clear and free of and from all and all manner of Incumbrances w.tsoever save only the Quitt Rents that hereafter shall grow due to the Reight Hon.ble the Lord Proprietary for the time being And that the same and every parte and parcell thereof they will now and att all times hereafter warrant and Defend unto him the said Charles his heirs Ex.rs Administrators and Assignes ag.t all and all manner of persons whatsoever Provided Neverthe Less and it is the true Intent & meaning of these presents that if y.e said Edward his heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assignes shall att or before the Fifteenth day of Aprill next following pay or cause to be paid unto y.e above named Charles Carroll his Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assignes the sume of seventy pounds sterl being the moyety or one [illegible] part halfe of the said sume with Legall Interest for the whole as alsoe att or upon the fifteenth day of Aprill which shall happen to be in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and sixteen pay in Like manner unto him the said Charles the residue or the Moyety of y.e said sume with Legall Interest for y.e same then this deed And all the articles Clauses & Covenants therein Contained is and are to be Null Void and of noe Effect otherwise to remaine absolute and in full full force ^to^ Vest the Fee simple and Inheritance of the premises in him the said Charles Carroll his heirs Ex.rs and Assignes forever In Testimoney whereof the said parties have hereunto interchangeaby sett their hands & seales the day & year first above Written Edw.d Boteler (seale) On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus endorst Viz.t Ann Boteler (seale) Sealed and Delivered in the presents of Phil Coale Nathan Rigbie Mem.d That on the day to witt the first Day of May Anno Domini 1714 Came before me one of her Majesties Justices of the provinciall (Court) |
