       or Assignes the said sume of two hundred and fifty pounds sterling w.th
       Legall and Annuall Interest for the same Commencing from the day
       of the date hereof or otherwise pay unto the sd Charles so much of
       the said sume as the said tobacco shall fall short of producing w.th
       Legall Interest for the same then this deed and Every Clause article
       and Covenant thereof is to be null Void and of no Effect otherwise
       to remain absolute and in full force and virtue In Testimony

       Brown do send greeting Know Yee that I the said Thomas Brown of
       Annarundel County in the province of Maryland planter for and in
       Consideration of Love good will and Affection which I have and do bear
       towards my Loveing son John Brown of the County and province afd
       planter have given granted and by these presents do freely Clearly
       and Absolutely give and grant unto the said John Browne his heirs
       ex.rs or adm.rs the one moyety or uper half part of a tract of land Called
       Ranters Ridge lying in the woods in Baltemore County on the south
       side of the main falls of Potapsco Beginning at a bounded white
       oake standing in the head of Potapsco branch and runing thence east
       north east sixty six perches then north thirty two degrees east one
       hundred and fifty three per.s then north seventy nine degrees
       west three hundred and seventy perches then south sixteen degrees
       west thirty perches then south six degrees east two hundred and
