166 Lynes late of Charles County Esq.r of the one part and William Bladen of y.e Province afores.d Gentl of y.e other part Wittnesseth that whereas the af.d Phillip Lynes Esq.r in y.e Yeare of our Lord God one thousand Seven hundred and Nine in and by his last will and testament in wrighting only executed proved and remaining upon record in y.e office for probate of Wills in this province did among other Devises therein made and exprest devise and give unto the said Mary Hemsley by y.e name of Mary Contee and her heirs one Quarter part of his mannour of Kent Fort which said mannour of Lyeing and being upon Kent Island in Queen Anns County within this Province And further did devise and give y.e remainder of all other his Lands in this Province Pensilvania and Countys annext or Elce where in America (Save in y.e thirds thereof which he thereby willed unto his then wife Anne Lynes for her [illegible] some other Small tracts in his s.d will before [illegible] by him devised unto the s.d Ann Lynes & Mary Contee now Hemsley and the afd William Bladen and their heirs since which the said Anne Lynes [illegible] And the said William Bladen ^and Mary Hemsley^ become Joynt tennants in all the said Phillip Lynes's Lands Saveing as afd Now this Indenture further wittnesseth that the said Philemon and Mary ^his wife^ for and in Consideracon of the sume of one hundred and Twenty Thousand pounds of good sound Merchantable leafe Tobacco to them by the Said William Bladen payd at and before the ensealing and delivery of this Psent Indenture the receipt whereof the afd Philemon Hemsley and Mary his wife do hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part thereof doe Acquitt (the) |
