       being privately examined out of the hearing of her husband
       Gave her free Consent thereto before me Philemon Lloyd Esq
       one of her Maj.tys prov.ll Justices according to act of Assembly

x.d  This Indenture made this ninth day of Aug.t one
       thousand seven hund.d & nine Between John Jones of
       Baltemore County planter of the one part and Charles
       Carroll of the Citty of Annapolis in Annarund.ll County
       Gentleman of the other part  Wittnesseth that the said
       John for and in Consideracon of the sume of Eighty one pounds
       four shil Currant & Lawfull money of England to him in hand
       at and before the Ensealing and delivery of these Presents by
       the said Charles well and Truly paid the receipt whereof he the
       said John doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every
       part and Pcell thereof doth acquitt and discharge him the
       said Charles Carroll his heires and assignes for ever by these
       presents hath given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed
       and Confirmed as by these Presents he doth for him and his
       heires Give Grant Bargaine sell aliene enfeoff and Confirme
       unto him the said Charles Carroll all that those two Tracts or
       Pcells of Land lying in Baltemore County the one Called
       Treavour and Containing one hundred acres the other called
       Cocksell and Containing two hundred acres more or Less
       Togeather w.th all and singular the houses out houses
       Tobacco houses Gardens Barnes orchards rights members &
       appurtenances whatsoever belonging or any wise
       appertaining to y.e said Two Tracts or percells of Land and
       Premises or any part thereof  To have and to hold the
       said two Percells of Land and premises With their and Every
       of their rights members and appurtences unto him the said
          Charles Carroll his heires and assignes for Ever to & for
       the only proper use and behoofe of him the said Charles Carroll
       his heires and assignes and to no other use Intent meaning
       purpose or Construction whatsoever  And the said John
       doth by these presents for him and his heires Covenant
