This Indenture made the fourth Day of Aprill in the year
       of our Lord one Thousand seaven hundred Betweene Co.ll
       Henry Jowles of s.t marys County Gent of the one part
       and Amos Garrett of Ann Arundell County march.t of the
       of Baltemore by his letters patents under the great seale of
       this province bareing Date at s.t marys the tenth day of
       may in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousand six hundred
       eighty and five did Grant unto Coll Henry Jowles of s.t
       Marys County aforesaid a certaine tract of Land lyeing in
       Baltemore County Called by the name of Gillingham and
       Conteing by the survey thereof foure hundred acres now this
       present Indenture witnesseth that he the said Coll Henry
       Jowles for and in Consideracon of the sume of forty
       two pounds and three shillings ster to him in hand payd
       by him the said Amos Garrett the recept whereof ^he^ the
       said Coll Henry Jowles Doth hereby acknowledge and
       thereof and of Every part and parcle thereof doth hereby
       fully clearely and absolutely Exonerate acquitt and
       Discharge him the said Amos Garrett hath given granted
       bargained sould alleined Enfeoifed and Confermed as
       by these psents he the said Coll henry Jowles for
       him and his heires Doth Give Grant bargaine sell
       alleine enfoife and Conferme unto him the said Amos
       Garrett all that the aforesaid tract of Land Called
       Gillingham in baltemore County and on the East side of
       a river Called bush river and upon the west side of a
       branch of the said river Called by nams branch beginning
       at a bounded read oake standing on a ridge neare the s.d
       Abells Lott and runing ^thence^ west south west three hundred pches
       then runing north north west one hundred and Eighteene
       perches then runing north north East two Degrees more
       Easterly foure hundred and twelve perches tell
