806) 826 This Indenture made y.e sixth day of Aprill in the Yeare of our Lord God 1698 Between Anthony Workman of Talbott County Planter and Jone his wife of y.e one parte & Francis Steevens of the County afs.d Carpenter of y.e other part Wittnesseth y.t they y.e s.d Anthony Workman and Jone his wife for and in Consideracon of y.e sume of Forty pounds Sterl money of England to them in hand paid at or before y.e Ensealing & Delivery of these p.rsents y.e reciept whereof they y.e s.d Anthony Workman and Jone his Doe Accknowlede themselves therew.th fully satisfied contented and paid and thereof and of every part and parcell thereof Doe fully Clearly and Absolutly exonorate acquit and Discharge y.e s.d Francis Stephens his heires Ex.rs Admin.rs and Assignes and every of them by these p.rsents hath given granted bargained sould Enfeofed Delivered Released and Confirmed and by these p.rsents doe give grant Bargain sell Enfeofe Deliver Release and Confirme unto Francis Stephens af.d his heires and assignes for ever All that part of a Tract of Land on Kent Island in y.e County af.d Called Little Ease and one y.e west side of a Creek Called Coxes Creeke y.e s.d part halfe part or moiety being sett forth according to those bounds hereafter Routed beginning at a bounded white oake standing on the southwest point of ann Island comonly called Little Ease Island and from thence runing north w.th a cove bearing w.th said north Line to y.e head of y.e s.d cove and from thence w.th y.e s.d course & Line to a bounded Line for pigquarter Creeke and w.th y.e said road to y.e most westermost bounds of y.e s.d Little Ease land and on y.e west and south according to the former bounds untill it meets w.th y.e first bounded white oake standing on y.e said Island together w.th y.e Reversion and Revecons Remainder and Remainders rents Issues and profits thereof And all y.e Estate right property Claime & Interest & Demand whatsoever of him y.e said Anthony Workman and Jone his wife of in or to y.e premises or any part thereof To Have and To hold y.e s.d Granted Land & premises w.th their and every their Appurtenances unto y.e s.d Francis Stephens his heires and assignes for ever to y.e sole use and behoofe of y.e s.d Francis Stevens his heires and assignes for ever And y.e said Anthony and Jone and theire heires the said Granted Land and premisses w.th their and every their appurtenances unto y.e s.d Francis Stephens his heires and assignes them the s.d Anthony and Jone his wife and theire heires and assignes shall and will warrant & for ever Defend by these p.rsents and y.e said Anthony Workman and Jone his wife Doe for themselves theire heires Ex.rs & Adm.rs and every of them covenant Promise and grant unto ^&^ w.th y.e said Francis Stephens his heires and assignes and to and w.th every of them by these presents that he y.e said Anthony Workman hath good Rightfull power and Lawfull Authority to Convey y.e s.d parcell of Land and p.rmisses w.th y.e appurtenances to y.e said Francis Stephens his heires and assignes for ever And y.e said Anthony Workman for himselfe his heires Ex.rs & Admin.rs doth covenant promise and grant to and w.th y.e said Francis Stephens his heires & & assignes that he y.e said Anthony Workman and his heires and Jone his wife and all persons claiming under him or her or them shall upon reasonable request and at y.e Charges in y.e Law of y.e s.d Francis Stephens make doe suffer accknowledge and execute any further or other act or acts thing or things Devise or Devises in the Law whatsoever that shall by y.e said Francis Stephens his heires or assignes or theire Councill Learned in y.e Law be Reasonablely Advised devised or required for y.e further better and more sure making over y.e said bargained p.rmisses w.th their appurtenances unto y.e s.d Francis Stephens his heires and assignes for ever And Lastly it is hereby Declared that nothing in these p.rsents shall extend or be construed before y.e s.d Workman or his heires to warrant y.e s.d parcell of Land otherwise there is above expressed but barely sells his Right and title he hath in y.e same any thing in these presents contained to y.e contrary notwithstanding In wittness whereof the parties to these p.rsents their hands and seales have sett the Day and yeare first above written signum Signed Sealed and Delivered Anthony T Workman (Seale) In y.e p.rsence of signum on y.e back side of y.e said Indenture were (Seale) Susanna S Harris written Ap.rll y.e 11.th 1698 Stephen Blatchford Accknowledged by M.r Workman in open Court p Chr Gregory Clk |
