(790) 810 This Indenture made the fifth day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred Ninety Seven Between John Rockhould of the County of Ann Arundell in the Province of Maryland planter of the one pt and John Lockett of Baltemore County in the Province afd Tanner of the other part Wittnesseth that the s.d John Rockhould for and in Consideracon of the full sum of eight thousand pounds of good sound m.rchantable leafe Tobacco in Cask at & before the ensealing and delivery of these p.rsents to him in hand paid by the s.d John Lockett y.e receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and for other Good causes and Considerations him thereunto moving hath given granted aliend bargained sould enfeeofd and Confirmed and by these p.rsents fully clearly and absolutely give alien bargaine sell enfeeof and confirme unto the s.d John Lockett his heires and Assignes for ever all that tract or pcell of Land called Rockhoulds Range lying of late in Ann Arundell County but Now in Baltemore County in the province aforesaid on the south side of Petapscoe River on the head of a Creek called the Rock Creeke Begining at a bounded oake being a bound oake Tree of the Land of John Deavoure called Rattlesnake Neck and runing w.th the line of the s.d Land North North West one hundred & eighteen pches then south west three hundred and twenty two pches to a bounded oake then east one hundred and sixty pches to the s.d Creeke then to the first bounded Tree containing and now laid out for two hundred Acres of Land more or less Together w.th all houses woods Pattents Deeds Papers Rights Benefitts Priviledges and Appurtenances whatsoever (Royall Mines Excepted) to the said Tract or pcell of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining which said Tract or pcell of Land is now in y.e pocession of y.e said John Lockett and was granted to the s.d John Rockhould by the Right Hono.ble Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Province of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore by Pattent bearing date the Tenth day of August Annoq Domini 1684 To have and To hold the s.d two hundred Acres of Land and all and singular other the pemises hereby granted bargained and sould w.th their appurtenances (Except before Excepted) unto the s.d John Lockett his heires and Assignes to the proper use and behoofe of the s.d John Lockett his heires and Assignes paying the Rents and alienation Money that shall hereafter growe due and payable for the hereby bargained pemises to the cheife Lord or Lords of the fee shall and may peaceably and quietly have hold occupy possess and injoy the said bargained pemises with their and every of theire appurtenances free from the lett suit molestation or interuption of of any pson or psons whatsoever And further that he the s.d John Rockhould and his heires and all psons claiming under him shall and will upon request and at the Charges in the Law of the s.d John Lockett his heires and Assignes make doe suffer acknowledge and execute any other or further act or acts thing or things whither by acknowledgm.t of these p.rsents by himself or Mary his Wife or by any other Lawfull ways or meanes whatsoever that shall be by the said John Lockett or his heires and assignes or his or theire Councill learned in the Law reasonable advised devised or required for the further better and more sure making the said bargained pemises w.th the appurtenances unto the s.d John Lockett |
