809 (789 To all Christian People to whome these p.rsents shall come I George Brent Atturney of Timothey Lindall and Mary his wife of Salem in New England send Greeting in our Lord God Everlasting whereas Nathaniel Vernin late of Baltemore Charles County in y.e Province of Maryland dyed seized of a certaine messuage tenem.t and tract of Land containing three hundred acres Called Woodberies Harboure Neare Nongemie in Charles County afores.d Originally Granted to James Lee by Pattent bearing date y.e Ninth of Octob.r 1667 & severall meane conveyances from y.e said Lee and others conveyed and firmly settled in fee upon y.e said Vernin as by y.e respective Deeds well executed in the said Charles County records may more at large Appeare relation being thereto had and for as much as that y.e said Land Discended to y.e said Mary Lindall as sister and heire att Law to y.e said Vernin as by Authintique testimonialls from New England doth and may att Large appeare on y.e Records of the Principall Court together w.th an Ample Lett.r of Attorney from y.e said Timothy Lindall and y.e said Marie Lindall sister and heire to y.e said Vernin to me y.e said George Brent suffitiently proved and attested Fully Impowering me y.e said Brent to enter into and upon y.e p.rmisses and to make sale thereof Now Know Yee that I y.e said George Brent by vertue of y.e Power afores.d and for & in consideracon of y.e sume of eight thousand pounds of Tob.a paid to Hezekiah Duth Agent of y.e said Lindall by Phillip Lynes of Charles County afores.d have given granted Bargained sold Enfeoffed and Confirmed and doe by These p.rsents give grant Bargaine Sell Enfeoffe and Confirme to him y.e said Phillip Lynes all y.e afores.d messuage Tenem.t and Tract of Land Called Woodberies Harbour Containing three hundred acres be it more or less according to y.e Pattent above Expressed and according to y.e metts and bounds therein Expressed and Contained together w.th all its Rights Members and Appurtenances Priviledges and Imoluments to y.e same belonging and in any wise to y.e same appertaining or that of Right doe descend or belong to y.e said Timothey Lindall and Mary Lindall his wife or Either of them as heire att Law to y.e said Nathniel Verin To have and To hold the granted p.rmisses and Every part and pcell thereof w.th all and Every y.e Rights Memb.rs and Appurtenances to him y.e said Phillip Lynes his heires and Assignes for Ever to y.e sole and proper use benifitt and behoofe of him y.e said Phillip Lynes his heires and Assignes and to noe other use intent or purpose whatsoever by and under y.e quitt rents due and to be due to y.e Chiefe Lord of y.e fee I wittness whereof I y.e abovesaid George Brent as atturney of y.e said Timothey Lind and Mary his Wife and by virtue of y.e Power in y.e before exp.ressd Lett.r of Atturney to me given hath hereunto sett my hand and seale this third of June in y.e Ninth Yeare of y.e Reigne of our Soverigne Lord King William y.e third of England &c.a Annoq Dom 1697 George Brent (sealed) June y.e 3.d 1697 Then came before us y.e within Named George Brent Attorney of Timothy Lindall and Mary his wife and acknowledged by virtue of y.e Lett.r of Attorney to him sent from Salem in New England y.e within Mentioned Deed according to Law & Delivereth y.e same y.e said Timothy & Marys Lett.r of Attorney to him Directed to be recorded w.th other proofes relating to y.e said Land to be Recorded in y.e Prov.ll Office of this Province Coram Nos Rob.t Smith Recorded y.e 5.th of June 1697 Phill Hoskins |
