371) 380 This Indenture made the Foure and twentieth day of August in the first year of the raigne of our soveraigne Lord James the second by the yeare of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the Faith &c Annoq Domini One thousand six hundred Eighty Five Between Henry Warren of S.t Maries County scituate and being in Maryland in parts beyond the Seas gent on the one part and Francis Pennington of S.t Clements bay in Maryland aforesaid (brother of the said Francis Pennington) gent on the other part Witnesseth that the said Henry Warren for and in Consideration of the sume of Tenn shillings of good and lawfull money of England to him in hand paid by the said Francis Pennington and John Pennington before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof he doth hereeby acknowledge and thereof and of every part thereof he doth and Discharge the said Francis Pennington and John Pennington their heirs Executors and Administrators by these presents and For divers other good causes and Considerations him thereunto especially mooveing hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doe grant bargaine and Sell unto the said Francis Pennington and John Pennington All that parcell of Towne Land lyeing nearest about the new Chappell att S.t Maries and bounding on the east with S.t Peters Freehold on the South with the Towne Land of Giles Brent gent and a line drawne from the end of the Towne Land unto S.t Peters Freehold on the west with a swamp in S.t Georges River called the Key swamp and on the north with a right line drawne from the Top of the Hill on the North side of the swamp where the raile heretofore stood unto that part of the Mill brooke where the Freehold of S.t Peters ends being about the distance of Forty Five perches above the place where the Mill stood conteyning by esstemation Twenty Five Acres or thereabouts and alsoe all that parcell of Towne Land lyeing about S.t Maries Hill and bounding on the East with the hill Creeke on the South with a branch of S.t Inigoes creek on the North with a paralell line drawne From the Hill Creek and extending due west up the Hill about the distance of a Furlong to the Northward and from the House then standing for the length of one hundred and sixty perches unto S.t Inagoes Creek conteyning by estimation Two hundred and Fifty five acres or thereabouts And alsoe all that parcell of Land laid out for a Mannour commonly called or known by the name of S.t Inagoes Mannour together with the Court Leet and Court Baron thereunto belonging being a neck of land lyeing upon the |
