37 This Conveyance Acknowledged in Open Court the one & Twentyeth day of September 1675 by Thomas Philips unto M.r Edward Man Ent upon Record Lib 8 8 fol 87 by me Willm Hemsley Cl This Indenture made the Nineteenth day of March Anno Domi 1674 And in the Seaven & Twentyeth yeare of the Reigne of Our Sovereigne Lord Charles the Second by the Grace of God King of England Scotland France & Ireland defender of the Faith &c Betweene Robert Story of S.t Johns Streete in the County of Midd Merchant of the one part & Samuell Groome of Ratcliffe in the County of Midd Marriner of the other part Witnesseth That the said Robert Story (for Good Causes & valuable Consideracons him thereunto moveing) Hath Bargained Sold Demised & to farme Letten & by these p.rsents Doth Bargaine Sell Demise and to Farme Lett unto the Said samuell Groome All those Severall Peices or parcells of Land or pasture Ground with theire Appurtenances Conteyning together by Estimacon four hundred & Fifty Acres be the same more or Lesse now or late in the tenure or occupacon of Thomas Skellington & Called or Knowne by the name of Dover scituate Lyeing & Being in Choptanke in the Province of Maryland in America which said Lands hereby Bargained Sold & demised were lately purchased by the Said Robert Story to him & his heires for Ever of & from John Edmondson of Maryland aforesaid Merchant by two Severall Deeds or Conveyances and by two Severall parcells The one Conveyance being for Three hundred Acres or thereabouts & the other Conveyance for One hundred & Fifty Acres or thereabouts And all houses Edefices & buildings Erected upon the said Lands or upon any part thereof And all wayes Easements Watercourses Woods Underwoods profitts Comodityes & appurtenances whatsoever to the said Severall Peices or parcells of Land belonging or in any wise appertaineing To have & to hold the said Several peices or parcells of Land or pasture Ground & all & singular other the premisses with the Apurtnces above by these p.rsents Bargained Sold & Demised unto the said Samuell Groome his Exec.rs Adm.rs & Assignes from the Five & Twentyeth day of December last past before the Date of these presents unto for & Dureing the Full End & Terme of one whole yeare from thence next Ensueing & fully to be Compleate & Ended Yeilding & paying therefore for & Dureing the said Terme of One yeare unto the said Robert Story his heires & Assignes the Rent of One Popp Corne on the Five and Twentyeth day of December next Ensueing the Date of these p.rsents (if the same Shall be lawfully demanded) To the End that he the said Samuell Groome by vertue of these p.rsents & of the Statute for transferring of Uses into Possession may bee in the Actuall possession of the premisses & may be Enabled to Receive to Grant of the revercon & inheritance thereof to him his heires & Assignes In Witnes whereof the said partyes to these p.rsent Indentures Interchangeably have sett theire hands & Seales Dated the Day & yeare first above written Robert Story Sealed On the Back of the Above Indenture was Endorsed (viz.t) Sealed & Delivered in the p.rsence of John Alsop Scr in Fenchurch Streete London Sil Chilckott Adam Prince his Servants John Reely New Yorke the fourth of August 1675 The within Mentioned Robert Story delivered this Instrument or bill of Saile & Acknowledged itt to be his Act & Deed for the use of the within mentioned Samuell Groome in the p.rsence of Wee whose names are here under written Peter Bayard Thomas Bowman James Bowman Robert Wickory Samuell Croston Geo Heathcoate By the Govern.r Locus Sigilli Upon the Desire of Robert Storey of this Citty Merchant I Doe hereby Certifie his haveing his Day Acknowledged before me the within written to be his Act & Deed Signed & Sealed by him Given under my hand & Seale in New Yorke this 14.th day of November 1676 Mathias Nicolls Andross Sec.r |
