the east side of 50 foot Washington Avenue; thence north
84 degrees 8 minutes 45 seconds west — 24.98 feet to the
point of intersection of the center line of Washington
Avenue with the center line of the old road known as
Mayday Road; thence south 41 degrees 57 minutes 20
seconds east — 16 57.02 feet; thence south 03 degrees 03
minutes 33 seconds east — 283 feet to the point of
beginning containing (12.809) acres, more or less.
SECTION TWO
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all the territory hereby
annexed into the Town of La Plata be zoned R—1
(single—family residential) after the effective date of
this resolution until such zoning is amended and provided
by law.
SECTION THREE
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all persons residing
within the area annexed, shall, after the effective date
of this resolution, be subject to all the laws,
ordinances and resolutions of the Town of La Plata,
Maryland.
SECTION FOUR
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Charter Amendment
Resolution is hereby introduced on 24 October 1974, and
that the date of the adoption of this resolution is 10
December 1974, and that the amendment to the Charter of
the Town of La Plata hereby proposed by this enactment
shall be and become effective on 25 January 1975, unless
a proper petition for a referendum hereon shall be filed
as permitted by law. A complete and exact copy of this
Charter Amendment Resolution shall be posted in the Town
Hall until 28 February 1975.
SECTION FIVE
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as soon as the Charter
Amendment hereby enacted shall become effective either as
herein provided or following a referendum, the Chief
Executive Officer of the Town of La Plata shall cause to
be sent separately, by registered mail, to the Secretary
of State of Maryland, to the Department of Legislative
Reference of Maryland, to the Archivist and Records
Administrator, Hall of Records of Maryland, to the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Charles County, Maryland, and to
each member of the Legislative Delegation of Charles
