3012                                    JOINT RESOLUTIONS

in February, 1974, it is possible that a life could have
been saved had there been an ambulance instantly
available on the airport property; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
Governor Marvin Mandel be requested to direct the
Secretary of the State Department of Transportation to
review this situation and determine the need for a
full—time ambulance service specifically for
Baltimore—Washington Airport; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
the Governor and to the Honorable Harry Hughes, Secretary
of Transportation, P.O. Box 8755, Baltimore—Washington
International Airport, Baltimore, Maryland.

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

Stock Exchange Seat for Maryland

FOR the purpose of requesting that the State of Maryland
consider purchasing a stock exchange seat.

WHEREAS, Connecticut purchased a stock exchange seat
which proved to be so successful that Connecticut
recouped its investment cost in one year; and

WHEREAS, Connecticut has reduced its brokerage fees
by twenty—five percent; and

WHEREAS, Connecticut has experienced no legal
problems pertaining to its stock seat purchase; and

WHEREAS, State purchases of stock exchange seats
have been strongly recommended in an article appearing in
a Council of State Governments publication; and

WHEREAS, Many authorities have endorsed the concept
of State purchases of stock exchange seats; and

WHEREAS, The State of Maryland is always searching
for ways to reduce costs; new, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the State of Maryland consider buying a stock exchange
seat; and be it further
